  1. The debt to Dwane Sports Ltd is held by the football club's parent company Bristol Rovers 1883 Ltd and that is still outstanding.
  2. Why would Mr Al-Quidi say he has paid off Rovers' debts if he hasn't ?
  3. It's desperate down on page 3, you can hardly breathe, but I think I've managed to keep a breast of all the news ? The authorities won't allow Rovers to use their training ground until all planning conditions have been met which will be sometime next year if ever and the new stadium at St Philip's is going to be built with banana skin ?
  4. That is roughly correct based on their holdings in AJIB and the hotel group and if they held significant stakes in other companies doubtless we should have been told about it in the heady days of 2016. If the President is telling trusted friends in the Bristol area that he has 100 million to spend on BRFC then either his wealth has been seriously underestimated or he has taken leave of his senses.
  5. Wael Al-Quidi has apparently let it be known he has 100 million to spend on BRFC
  6. Reading tonight's Bristol Post article headlined "Wael Al-Qadi, Bristol Rovers and the truth" I was reminded of the old Gene Pitney song "Somewhere in the West Country" Nobody wants him he's nobody's child Nobody seems to care Isn't it funny now that he needs someone There's nobody there ...
  7. I would recommend Lanacane anti-chafing gel for sore ears.
  8. Other sources advise that Mr Al-Quidi is a "Johnny-come-lately" to the Fruit Market project and is unwanted by all of the protagonists. His elder brother is anxious to rid himself of the burden of BRFC and, with cash draining away at an alarming rate, the younger gentleman may be squeezed out. Personal money thrown at the Colony site is a last desperate attempt to stay on board but from his playroom in Jordan our would be hero is watching that dream gradually slip away.
  9. Will Mr Wael Al-Quidi be retaining a stake in BRFC ?
  10. Exactly. Stevenage were fortunate in that the land had been properly prepared before football pitches were laid out and in the 1960’s international teams even trained there. At the Colony one can imagine the experts from MJ Abbott recommending that Mr Al-Quidi have them make a proper survey of the pitch foundations laid by the rugby club and, if necessary, give him a quote for the installation of a suitable drainage system. And it can be predicted that the serial blundered would ignore the advice of the experts and his colleagues and, in a last desperate attempt to placate his Bristol Post led fan club, tell MJ Abbott to “please, just go ahead and lay some turf”. It will be some time before we discover if winter weather makes the pitches unplayable and training sessions are confined to a subbuteo table in the analysis suite. But the chances are that Wendy is right, and we can look forward to a soggy reincarnation of the M J Abbott madhouse.
  11. Oh no, Mr Al-Quidi has employed the well respected company MJ Abbott Ltd and so long as stage payments continue to be met the training ground will look something like the one the firm did for Stevenage FC . Opened in 2013, when “the Boro” finished 18th in League 1, this state of the art development has helped propel them to the National League.
  12. THE DISAPPEARED Between 2016 and 2020 the majority of senior figures at Bristol Rovers FC vanished without trace leaving families mystified and fans completely unaware. Now, after minutes of painstaking research, former manager B J Tann has pieced together their harrowing tale. In his explosive best seller we learn how these innocent people were awakened by a midnight knock on the tent flap then whisked away to a patch of wasteland near Almondsbury never to be seen again. In the lower league football business asset refinancing activities are considered especially heinous. And when an elite group of dedicated executives attempted to expose such injustices they were made to pay a fearsome price. These are their stories. Michael Cunnah Stadium Expert Successfully implemented Wembley plan but found to be hopeless with a blank canvas Lee Atkins Mergers & Acquisitions Specialist Allegedly merged with a block of cement Will Dubey Football Analyst Analysis of dental records showed his appointment was purely cosmetic Steve Brookfield Finance Director Accused of conspiring to add up Mike Turner Director of Legal Affairs Caught soliciting on Stapleton Road Stephen Hamster Chairman Knew Too Much (Too Much was later discovered shot dead in the Total Produce Ltd car park) Ken Masters Fans Director Found in possession of Head & Shoulders with a street value of £10 000 Martyn Starnes CEO Fell overboard from his gravy boat and drowned in a sea of debt Nominated for the Booker Cash & Carry Prize. Chosen as book of the month by the INLA SUNDAY TIMES “Middle East politics played out in the sleepy suburbs of Bristol” DAILY MAIL ‘A gripping read, but why didn’t we find out how much their houses are worth ?” FILTON AVENUE RESIDENTS NEWSLETTER “They were such nice people, we never thought anything like this could happen on our street” DALTONS WEEKLY “Remit within 7 days or your advertisement will be cancelled” BRISTOL POST ‘ He’s still a lovely bloke”
  13. No, I think it must be the people who will build the new ground and it values Rovers at £ 7.6 million which might be what they think the Mem is worth for development now. Hopefully nothing will go wrong in the meantime and their money won't disappear down the drain.
  14. Do Rovers have a new 4.4% shareholder who has paid £ 340 000 for the privilege ?
  15. If all attempts at renting a training ground have failed what will the team do when play resumes ?
  16. Our former director Mr Turner (previously a business partner of Amos Brearly) told a packed AGM that the London office was costing the club £ 250 000 per year. It has now apparently been closed but since it's existence was always shrouded in mystery we can't really be sure of that and it could still be functioning surreptitiously disguised as a launderette. However, one thing which nobody seems to have picked up from the latest accounts is the extraordinary growth in lease commitments. Back in 2016 old Nicholas was on the hook for £ 115K but this grew to £ 511K in 2018 and by 2019 the club had non-cancellable operating lease commitments of £ 850K ! Has Mr Al-Qadi leased each one of the staff a brand new Rover 3.5-Litre Saloon ?
  17. Gasheads who are sceptical about Mr Al-Qadi's ability to personally pay the club's monthly staff costs of £ 500 000 must be unaware that his annual dividend income from AJIB last year was close to £ 600 000.
  18. Could some of it be interest showed separately from the capital outstanding and included in the accounts as an accrual ? That sum would have been about £ 1.6 million last June and could be up to £ 2.5 million by this June ? Which would make the total owed to the Al Qadi family about £ 21.5 million but there is nothing to worry about because their bank is going places and might soon be in a situation comparable to the West Bank.
  19. Can't be true. We'd had our phones cut off after Ian Stevens put all the gate money on a greyhound and it ran off.
  20. No one has actually said the London office was used by an extreme Palestinian political organisation but officials go blue in the face when they hear the name Gasser Arafat.
  21. We certainly were a different breed back then. Can you imagine one of today’s generation of “cornflake” managers being capable of successfully steering the magnificent vessel which is Bristol Rovers whilst ..... Launching the career of the Fab Four (Jarman, Biggs, Hamilton & Jones) Solving the Cuban missile crisis by writing a stern letter to the FA And still have time for a protracted bedding of Christine Keeler without her ever squealing. (To the News of the World)
  22. Early reports indicate the 2019 accounts will show the Dwane Sports loan as having been fully written off with Rovers now properly capitalised and raring to go when the football starts again.
  23. Strangely enough that isn't the case SJ. Based on my own geopolitical research it appears there are forces currently at work which aim to keep the Kingdom of Jordan stable. While stock markets around the globe collapse the shares of the Arab Jordan Investment Bank have lost comparatively little and in the last month the Jordanian Dinar has strengthened by about 10% against the pound. A New World Hors D'oeuvre is emerging and, who knows, BRFC may become a prominent part of it ?
  24. We have absolutely nothing to worry about because our Commercial Director has said that Mr Wael Al-Qadi will cover all staff wage costs from his personal resources for as long as it takes.
  25. I always thought the Topaz Massage Parlour on Stapleton Road had a better feel to it. And their birch twigs were certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
