  1. Think this season we are so much more composed on the ball at the back, probably a lot to do with there being more options for a pass in front of the back four. Last season, like Fulham last night, we played the ball around back four, lost patience and then lumped it forward. This season centre backs all seem to have options when receiving the ball and all are prepared to bring it forward and move into space if they don't. Far less lumping and much more control, all of the players who have played back four all now seem much more comfortable on the ball.
  2. spot on Esmond - thought Joe Bryan had another storming game but agree with your assessment. Leko had a good opportunity to impress but did not really grasp it. 3 good points and another really impressive performance, despite injuries.
  3. what has been really impressive is the way we continue to be calm at the back and bring the ball out with purpose.
  4. Goal came from a couple of bits of quality from O'Dowda and Patto leaving Famara an easy slide in. He's looked lively and we have been solid at the back - sending off should create space to exploit and over the course of the half foul after foul built up. anyone else having issues with BCTV. Has been great but this morning patchy - which at 3am is not ideal...
  5. thought performance was fine - away at Norwich - dominated possession - just lacked a little quality in final third. Good point. On to Bolton!
  6. can see Pack fro Brownhill and Taylor for Reid before too long. still open and even.
  7. Patterson cross early probably should have picked out Famara, while Leko should have done better in six yard box with back to goal from a corner. Even 1st half though Norwich did have the clearer chances. Open and game there to win.
  8. Poor delivery from set pieces - but some very good passages of play. Just not quite there so far. Expect O'Dowda for Leko unless he gets much more involved at the start of 2nd half
  9. Fliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt!
  10. obviously but those bemoaning the fact we have lost a 3-0 lead seem to have forgotten how that was derived. Disappointing for sure but surely encouraging we managed to be 3-0 up in the first place.
  11. 56% possession 2 goals seems like a very good all round display so far!!!!
  12. Hope game at Ashton Gate sees more comprehensive domination from City than we are so far getting from Glos . Still in it but lots to do...
  13. MOM Adebola for me - involved in the build up to the free kick which he so ably buried - won the free kick for the all important second and then knocked on for Skuse to set up what seems either an own goal,or, if Fonts got a touch on the line a Burtons special. LJ was always available and I think his contribution was important in a dominant midfield where both Skuse and Williams excelled. Back four looked solid and all played their part in the victory. Orr won the free kick that led to the first, McAllister had a last ditch tackle when one of their forwards was otherwise through and Fonts and Carey were dominant. Probably for me Sproule had a quiet game but still worked hard for the team. Great game, great win and a great day out.
  14. In order to ensure we get revenue from some of the less popular games we offer season tickets- I expect that both the number this season and certainly the revnue will be above last year's numbers- because the demand is there. This will help facilities to be improved and I expect us to acquire better players than we otherwise might have done- it makes sense. And to those knocking Robbored for attending the play off yesterday- I'd far rather he did that than watched a premiership game - the Gas are an irrelevance, not our competition and a spirit of friendly rivalry should be encouraged. we mut set our sights far higher if we are to progress - far more interested in those above us playing in a league we aspire to than those below. We had our success why begrudge them theirs- after all they have had precious little of it. Cardiff are our closest rivals now-and when we were singing at the end of the Rotherham game are you watching Nottingham - I would far rather we had sung are you watching Manchester because that is where we should set our sights- Forest is the past Manchester is the future!!
  15. No need to as the point made is an entirely valid one- sorry if you can't see that but you are the one who needs to try again - since you seem to ignore the other side of the equation - demand. No matter what they charge Man U would fill their huge stadium- they have the demand you see, keeping up? while Colchester struggle to fill the rather mediocre facility they have so charging more would not make any sense - still with me? Sunderland would not fill their stadium at prices above where they are but can accommodate more people, at no extra cost than can we. We must therefore charge more. You have been very vocal on this subject but my view is you are wrong season ticket sales are going well and the modest increase in price per game is worth it for the improved facilities and higher division we are playing in. The club cannot simply rely on SL to continue to fund losses so please stop moaning.
