I thought he did relatively well during his loan spell at Swansea last season.

However, I’m unsure if he improves us, largely because he was in a possession based team last season. Whereas we are much more dangerous as a counter-attacking side.

Personally, I think Nige may make a move for Khadra again.

I don’t think so the player doesn’t want to play for Bristol city that’s Khadra that is.

To add to what Just8 said.

Benarous was left at home when they went to Austria. And in the videos from Failand, he isn't involved in any of the drills involving contact - he's with the u21s while the 1st teamers get stuck into each other.

But you're right, he is fit. And significantly, the video showing him pissing his SDS test ends with Pearson giving him a Well Done and a pat on the back.

Again I’m sure I saw pictures of Benarous in Austria ?‍♂️

His lungs are in good shape (he did win one of the SDS tests) but dont think he's trained with the senior team. Probably avoiding lateral movement and impacts?!

Yes he has I’ve seen pictures of him on the Bristol city site playing with the first team in Austria & before mate.

I'm starting this thread because the Jason Knight thread appears to be losing it's way with forwards as the main topic.

A big, tall target man will probably never be recruited by Pearson, simply because his idea of attackers are those with speed both initially and over a distance. He knows from his experience as a big central defender, that the big guys like the Welsh lump, Moore at Bournemouth are not too difficult for a decent defender to handle.

Thus he's brought in  a couple of big defenders for us to cope with that type of forward player who is still preferred by most Championship clubs.

But those big centre halves find it almost impossible to deal with the electric pace of those not so physically endowed.

So we definitely do not need a six foot plus target attacker while the emphasis is on speedy attackers.

Well Pearson did have Harry Kane on loan at Leicester city. So I would never say never.

Gotta love City fans sometimes! Here’s a player who’s got two Championship promotions under his belt, plus another play off season, who’s played 28 times at full international level for a decent national team…….but who’s apparently not good enough for Bristol City and a waste of money.

I know football is all about opinions, but sometimes there are some relevant facts in there too.

I would of preferred a small minority of city fans.

    next time hey lolz

Just listened to this. Reading between the lines, although in fact it seems pretty clear to me, Joe expressed concerns that he would be a high earner at the twilight of his career and perhaps therefore not the best value for money signing for his hometown club, and he would rather take a last payday from someone else who he didn't feel the same emotional connection to. Just me who reads it like that?

Joe confidence is obviously low if your right mate
