  1. I can't help but feel Gareth Southgate needs to trust his squad a bit more.

It is a squad game now not just the first 11.

I would be very interested to know what Mounts stats are for England in assists and goals vs. Grealish.

A three of Foden Grealish and Sterling behind the striker is a mouth watering prospect, however I dont think this has ever been tried?

Is playing two defensive midfielders necessary?

  2. Trump just doesn't seem to be able to control the cue ball at the moment. If he can tomorrow he has a chance. At the moment Ronnie knows even if Judd gets in he will give him another chance

Ignoring the scouting stuff (that’s between club and Harry about how much info they want to put out there), I know from two other people, there is lots of change going on, Gould at the forefront of the non-playing stuff, Pearson and Tinnion on the football side.  We just don’t see it.

I hope things are changing behind the scenes and for the better. There needs to be structure and SL and JL need to keep their beaks out of it.

Pearson kept us up last season and hopefully will do again this season. That is an achievement. Compared to a few seasons ago it sounds stupid.

But we have fallen a very very long way in a short space of time.

Pearson has to do better no doubt, we have seen it in fits and starts. Not consistently enough.

But he is keeping us up. Blooding youngsters (not always by choice granted). Slowly improving from last season.

It is painful but it is where we are.

If we could defend a bit better, we would have say another 6-9 points.

How many points have been lost to late late goals.

If Pearson can stop us leaking goals that will go a long way.

Of course it would help if we had players that could head, kick shoot and pass. But we haven't

  4. I can never get my head around why after getting the academy set up the scouting and recruitment was not as well. It must be a concious decision by SL not to do it. Is it because he is still desperate to be involved? It makes zero business sense especially with his mantra about the club being self sustainable.

Player after player has been signed. How much research was done on Nagy, Palmer etc etc. I think too often decent players have been signed with no thought on how they fit in the team or intergrate with the club. You would not recruit like this for any business unless you were desperate, or had another agenda. As a result we are back to having champagne lifestyle on a lemomade budget again. Under SOD and DM part of their remit was to cut the playing budget iirc? Pearson seems to have the same.

We have lots of players who are on good wages that aren't good enough and no one else wants. Piss poor recruitment and we have been here before many times. How can someone like SL (who is an astute businessman) fail to see it? In the grand scheme if things how much would it cost to set up a decent scouting network, DoF and associated systems, analysts etc?

This, every day of the week.

Anyone can misplace a pass or look fatigued, simply not doing the hard yards isn’t acceptable.

As someone else pointed out, he managed to find the energy late on to sprint forward but frequently not to track his man.

    Piss poor attitude.

    Simple as that.

  6. So your urging fans to boycott the club that has just won promotion to the championship, you want to start the new season in that divison on a downer, reduced funds avalible to the manager, smaller squad than needed ?

    A little drastic don't you think ?

Of course it's drastic, how else are the club going to listen??? If nobody buys a season ticket the club HAVE to reduce them. If fans don't attend games the club has to re-act.

Mr. Sexstone should either rectify his mistake or resign.

It's more terrible that the club are not rewarding loyal fans who have seen so many seasons of nearlyness for nearly a decade.

I for one will be going to the first home game of the season because it is out first home game in the championship., however I won't buy a season ticket because I can't afford it.

I'd like to add that I very much doubt season ticket sales will impact whether or not SteveL makes money available to GaryJ.

  7. It's quite simple really, supply and demand.

Yes I agree long-term season ticket holders should be rewarded but sadly Mr. Sexstone is far more interested in lining the clubs coffers.

    Solution??

NOBODY buys a season ticket as a matter of protest and a boycott of the first home game, unless the club are willing to drop the season ticket prices. Drastic yes but effective???
