  1. Doesn’t need to go back to radio, but at least do the draw during an actual football programme, instead of the One Show.
  2. Dyche favourite for Norwich job now apparently
  3. Kane will be 32 and should still be able to lead the line for us in 2026, especially if he manages to stay fit and healthy. Unfortunately I can’t see Adam Webster breaking into the England squad anytime in the next 4 years, unless he gets a move to a bigger club of course. Stones & Maguire will both be 32/33 which is not a problematic age for centre halves, especially if they’re injury free and playing top level club football still.
  4. The last 2 international matches that France have lost (Denmark & Croatia in Nations League Sep/June 2022) was them up against a 4-3-3. France put out strong sides in both fixtures. Be interesting to analyse how the Croatians and Danes won those games and stopped Mbappe. Maybe it’s more about flooding the midfield and actually starving him of the ball? If Rice, Hendo and Bellingham can dominate Rabiot, Griezmann and Tchouameni it will give us a real hope. The French look open at the back and won’t press us like Senegal did today. I really hope Southgate is brave and sticks with the 4-3-3. France will be as worried about our attack as we are about theirs.
  5. Fam dropped for Senegal in their decisive game against Ecuador. Bit harsh?
  6. Shambles from Korea Manager there. If Uruguay win their last 2 and Korea beat Portugal then they could still qualify. Silly red card for him ??
  7. If Semenyo comes on and scores a 116th minute winner, I’m gonna run through the streets of south east london naked only wearing a black star.
  8. No idea why all the tabloids are saying “Saka in over Foden” when surely it’s Sterling (or even Mount) in over Foden. Saka doesn’t really have any competition for the right hand side attacking role, maybe Maddison who often plays there for Leicester. I think it’s maybe a good idea to give Mount and Sterling this opportunity, as they know that if they blow it against Iran then they’ll lose their place pretty quick.
  9. Really disappointed by Conway. Definitely should have gone full Scott Murray 'cupped ear' mode in his celebration past the Atyeo.
  10. Carried his form over from the end of last season. Really talented lad.
  11. Losing the ball on the edge of your opponent's 18 yard box shouldn't classify as a mistake if they then go on to score. Maybe your own 18 yard box like, but no way can you blame AS there. Israel still had plenty of work to do.
  12. What an absolute weapon you are.
  13. Article mentions that they could possible reduce this 12 weeks down if things go well. Let's say it's 9-10 weeks before being back on the training pitch, that would be around wk beg 22 August. Could possibly see him in 1st team squad (all going well) by early September. Maybe missed 5 or 6 matches which isn't ideal but far from a disaster.
  14. Not sure if Sonny Stores in BS3 has had a mention on here yet, but ate there a few weeks back and it was brilliant. Hard to get a table at the moment mind!
  15. I imagine there might be a wee scramble for him this Summer. Just a hunch like ?
  16. What like Forest when we were 1-0 up with 5 mins to go? Are they a top 3 parachute club?
  17. You not think she’ll get offered a wildcard for Indian Wells? Perhaps it’s too tight a turnaround with the timing though. I imagine she’ll want to get back to the UK to see family and friends before focusing on the next steps for the tour. If she did play IW and got to the last 4 or final that could be enough to get a place at the WTA finals, but that’s probably a huge long shot. Otherwise I guess she’ll want to play in a few tournaments over November/December to build up some momentum for the Australian open.
  18. She did get to the final of the Chicago 125 challenger just before US open qualifying rounds beating Van Uytvanck (World no 61), Burel and Claire Liu (both top 100) before losing the final to Tauson. I’d say considering that she’d only been playing on hard courts on tour for only a few weeks, that’s some very decent progress considering she went into those matches ranked at around 175.
  19. She actually reached the final in the WTA Chicago tournament a week or so before her US Open qualifying began. Lost to Clara Tauson!
  20. I don't understand how experienced players like King and James completely lost all control of the middle of the pitch for those last 20 mins, and didn't show any leadership capability at all in terms of getting the lads to calm our heads, find feet with our passing. Most of that 2nd half was scrappy as hell and we should be showing basic Championship know how of seeing that game out, especially with the experience still in our team. Resorting to scruffy long punts up the pitch again, no direction in our play. What have they learnt in pre-season or do these players just not know how to learn and improve as a collective outfit? I'm gonna question Pearson's subs here too as watching Martin flogged dry was painful, and we were crying out for Wells from around 60-70 mins. Also not sure why our back line was so high at times when it has the collective pace of a pissed up party of slugs. That feels like a loss given how late that was, but everyone could see that it was coming from that last 10-15. We just cannot keep the ball, string 4-5 passes together and take the sting out the game.
