Was he 'eating humble pie'? Not sure.

 

Did he need to? Certainly not.

 

His original comments were both valid and fair.

 

Baldock, by his own admission, was getting more chances than he's ever had in his career and was failing to take far too many of them.

 

The criticism and exasperation at the time of the original post was perfectly reasonable, and we're all happy and relieved he's been doing what City signed him for much better recently.

 

It has to be said also that things like your most expensive player repeatedly missing schoolboy chances are naturally going to be discussed in detail on BCFC forums, but I don't remember Baldock getting anything but support while on the pitch at AG.

 

In fact the manager, his team mates and fans attending matches all stood by him despite some really shocking and costly misses and frankly we can all take some collective credit for his return to confidence and form.

Just acknowledging the fact his conversion rate has improved immensely in recent weeks which was pretty much the original point of this thread. I wasn't doing it to gloat quite the opposite infact!

Yes he is not very good and worries me every time he has the ball.

BUT when it first came out we signed him, and were told he was a wind up merchant, a rough guy, hard as nails etc etc we were all saying YES thats what we need, in fact everyone loved it.

So now he has wound someone up and elbowed him, just as we were told he would and we all thought it was great and just what we needed, we going to slate him now for it

Was it just me or did Baldock look into the Atyeo when celebrating his second and seem to say "**** off"...

I highly doubt it! He's not that sort if character.

More likely saying "******* get in" or something along those lines.

I know Baldy missed several easy chances in the first half but, after scoring his first goal with a magnificent finish, did he really deserve to be booed by a number of fans in the Ateyo ? How the hell is that going to achieve anything ? Would anyone who booed like to step forward and have the balls to explain their actions please ?

Amazing that there's a thread slagging off Baldock, and nothing about how utterly useless JET was. We may as well have played with 10 men until Burns and Barnett came on.

 

Perhaps if every other game SB didn't have to do the work of two people he'd get more. He worked his socks off in the second half, and Barnett did more in 30 seconds than JET did today.

 

Baldock clearly lacks a bit of confidence in the one on one situation, but he still got two goals which salvaged us a point today. I couldn't believe the two chumps behind me who booed him off at half time. Embarassing.

 

Funny how Baldock is lamented for his lack of putting chances away, and what's he on now? 15 or something? Well on course for 20+.

 

If we didn't concede so many, we'd be top half. The goals we conceded today were so soft, and that's why we dropped 2 points today.

How is this thread slagging off Baldock? Just pointing out how he's a frustrating player who could and probably should have put the game to bed today but also highlighting the fact he is a good player.

As for JET, he was poor by his standards today but I wouldn't say he did nothing all game considering he created 3 clear goal scoring opportunities today including two within minutes for Baldock.
