Decent performance, yes Rotherham didn’t offer much and nor did they park the bus, but some of the interplay up front was good, great movement and probably should have scored one or two more.

If anyone has seen the brilliant TV comedy series, The Thick Of It, that's kind of how I imagine the sacking of Nige.
First of all, the board members, led by Jon, probably passed on the message to Nige in a vague and cowardly way, then scarpered and hid in a store cupboard whilst Nige stomped around the HPC demanding answers. After Nige drives off, they come out to brainstorm how they're going to communicate the sacking without pissing off the fans, which of course spectacularly fails.
“Well that was a ******* disaster”

This raises a lot more questions than it answers. Now more than ever we need details from the club on what lessons they have learned from this debacle.

Tommy Conway is nowhere near ready for a step up (and not sure he ever will be) and would be better off staying here at the moment.
He won’t get Prem football (or wages) by staying here even if he plays into his forties, the worst that happens if he takes the chance of a Prem move is he doubles his money (or more) and ends up on the bench for a year before dropping back down a much richer man and with some Prem experience. This is the reality that City are competing with sadly. I’d love for him to stay but can’t see it

When you add the context that it was Marshall who said promotion was the aim THIS SEASON it is a strange comment......
I’m interested to know who they intend to hold accountable for this failure, and how.

He’ll have seen his international ambitions stalled by this season’s calamity and probably already has rumblings of interest from other clubs that will get a tune out of him. Can’t imagine him signing a deal, though I’d love it if he did.

After his prison stint..
Wikipedia says he signed for Swindon Supermarine in 2019 but hasn’t made an appearance, I assume the stint at Supermarine didn’t work out and he quit football for building work?

Always irritating to see referees gesture at players to get up when they’ve actually been fouled, incredibly obnoxious.

Same lino from our game with Norwich?

And another!

Glad I stuck this on three goals already

I certainly agree that next season has to be a good one, after writing this one off so cheaply. Over to you JL and BT!

Rashford has surely played himself out of the Euros, been rotten all season.

If we continue at this rate of improvement I fancy top 6 at least next season. Really excited to see what Liam can achieve with a pre season and a striker!
Wish I had your optimism we’re on a great run while some players are playing for contracts, but let’s see how the summer goes. We’ll lose our best players as usual, so here’s hoping we get some lower league gems in to replace them, to complement Bird and Stokes.

Sounds like a top performance against a top team, and more green shoots for next season.

One goal in the first half an hour in all the 3 o’clock kickoffs! Hopefully things liven up.

Indeed. I would go even further to say that the board effectively wrote the season off in the summer by not giving Nige the proper funding that was clearly needed.
Manning has done enough (results wise at least) to be properly backed in the summer. Give him the tools that are needed and then we can properly judge IMO.
Agreed, the worst thing we can do is try to play safe and just give him pennies in case it doesn’t work out.
They should go all in Manning, but the board should stake their futures on him. If it’s a disaster then they should go as well.
E2A: I don’t think with the right backing he will be a disaster, but it’s far too cosy as it stands.

Season was written off in October really. Really need a good season next year to make up for it.

It’s interesting how different fans see things. On the Huddersfield forum it’s pure vitriol about her, most of it sexist and insulting. I think they were unlucky not to get 3 points but blaming her is a step far too far

I thought it was never a penalty and it was the last kick of the game, so of course she’s to blame! Can understand the anger, but the sexism is unnecessary.

I’d be raging if that was given against us, he tried to make a sliding block and that’s a natural position for the arm to go because your head goes backwards as your torso goes forward, and instinctively your arm goes out prevent the back of your head whacking the floor.
Huddersfield were fuming though, so it’s funny.

Not a fan of nuance? A really enjoyable win today but I doubt we’ll have an easier game next season. Still, 3 points is 3 points, especially as it takes us a place higher, leapfrogging Cardiff
