Because at Luton he was mostly playing as a left back or a left CB in a 3. He never ever played as the central role in a 3.
I’m assuming this is a temporary measure whilst we’re waiting for Kalas to return.

I must admit, when we announced him, I thought we’d signed him to play left back

All very true...but we hear little about the return of Kalas. Still seems to be some time away.?

With Naismith, after the howler against Sunderland, he did well to recover his confidence in that game..it will be interesting to see how he plays against his old team mates on Tuesday.

  2. That centre forward  for them today beat us up all afternoon…I said to my mate he , made Chris Martin look totally pedestrian…and I am a supporter of CM.
whether Pearson and the club like the loan market or not, we need quality and If selling a crown jewel is needed to fund it.. so be it.

Wigan and Luton are big games. 4 points needed to restore some calm.

Either HNM's dad is a rubbish agent - or we are asking too much.

I suspect it's the latter based on current financial markets.

If he wants to go now - lower the price and ease his way out.

No point playing hardball if he wants to go.

$1,000,000 question - why does he want to go??

I have just listened to the interview on BBC catch up.  NP says no interest in him.  Going to be a squad player  while here and good offer still on table.  He will utilise him

As for reason why HNM has not signed and committed himself who knows…being told or believing better opportunities will be found at larger clubs around the corner….well as a freebie  this might be the case in years time, but seems  not a player anyone wants to spend money on at this moment in time…but seems at this moment time he’s here for the foreseeable.

  4. He is certainly a good top class player, but he really a ‘great top class  world player’

Man Ure once had all the great players..now they seem to possess players of good premier league standard…it seems other clubs now capture the worlds best such as the noisy neighbours Man City ?

either way good luck to the guy.

    Preparing to sell?

Or making to more attractive for other investors to join?

I cannot ever see the Lansdown's giving up entirely,  & I do not really grasp the finer details of finances and wheeler dealings.. If another 'Investor' is found and put in say £30M for example would that be above and not counted in FFP.

I for one am  enjoying the Transfer window activity and watching the playing side develop.

Try not to get too involved in  understanding the financial side of things..leave that to better qualified people.  All I want to know is hat we are not going to be docked points !

Watched Milan Djuric on BT last night playing for Salernitana in Seria A. They lost 4-0 but stayed up. He seems to be over his injury issues now and is involved most weeks.

    It’s like ‘what if….’

Djuric was never really fit for us… could have been a great signing.
Pisano was a decent right back, until that injury. Never same again.

Nagy started well..another nasty injury…and so on.

  7. I thought Eros Pisano also went to Pisa. I checked and wiki says he moved on and now plays for some Seris C team  (who I will not attempt to spell) with a  stadium capacity 2.8k or similar… so I guess pretty small team.

Good luck to Adam. I also like following ex players and see how it all pans out..

  8. If he had to retire due to ill health issues would he and club not be covered by medical insurances to protect both player and clubs value in player?
why would a head injury be any different from a physical injury such as bad  leg or career ending knee injury etc etc .  and of course his head injury might be exactly that but as fans we speculate.
I am sure a decision on NB is imminent after due medical process is concluded.

  9. From the excellent informative posts on here, allied to the comments made by R Gould,  I would not expect any points deductions... and I for one would be pleased if HNM went  for a decent fee and we held the other crown jewels to give the club more 'wiggle' room moving forwards. when it comes to incoming players.

I am not in the doom and gloom camp re the future of the playing side and would hope the sale of HNM and possibly Kalas would give us loads opportunity. Again enjoy the next few weeks or so..

I am a great fan of NP but clearly keeps his cards very close !  thats fair enough.  So NP says, to paraphrase, 'I would like to keep him but i don't get involved that sort of thing!'

I would hope he speaks regularly too Gould and they chat about what's happening.... I am sure he does know what's going on with the conversations between Gould and Timm Klose... it would be strange if he's not getting feedback from Gould... as Gould bound to be asking NP his thoughts on how long Timm can play at the top of his game.... etc etc   I just hope it pans out OK for us...

  11. That Wayne Rooney said to him  (NP) after the Derby game that our front three were as good as any in this league…. And that where he’s come from  (Rooney) he should know….

Yet before the season  started NP was hearing we should have new striker etc etc.

Wonder if that view is shared, I would be delighted if all three stayed fit and start next season, if we have Wells as well we might not be far off being very decent if our frailties  in defending are resolved..

Good player who got overplayed last season and therefore always seemed knackered

I likewise thought he was decent, believe played 38 games L1 for Owls. So on that stat you suspect he would have lasted the pace.
One poster said we would have been promoted ?   But I suspect we may have been few places higher. Perhaps we will see him back here next season yet ! If owls make it..

  13. ? Had not been released and retained ?
I raise this hypothetical question as us regulars see that most pressing issue has been the RHS of the defence. All season.
All season have seen make shift players  making good on that side, or players simply not up to it. Simpson example. Yes Tanner is very promising youngster. Not yet the answer, his time will come…

good old Jack has been a regular for the owls, I notice he has been in the league one team of the week a few times, and even scored a few goals.
bit fun really but I for one reckon we have missed him….

let’s see what NP  does in the summer..

Moore has no future at City , needs to move away to get his career going . Should have been doing better in Scotland though , so will prove hard to shift unless he also takes a hit on wages . May want to , as another lost season is not needed at his age . Was doing ok at L1 so maybe that is his level

Was that when at Blackpool ? Before promotion?  Also league 2 Colchester.

"Loans from England not up to it"?? that's coming from a club that would probably struggle in the English third division ?‍♂️

Interesting. Doubt very much if they would be a premiership side…possibly a decent championship side..they do have some decent players, mind you I read on that thread they even played TM as a wing back ?. All guess work and debate I guess. Think they are in Europe next year.

  16.  I started the thread re Klose remaining at the club... there were a few comments in relation to Taylor Moore returning to us.... so I thought I would start one  in relation to TM on its own right.

I fully appreciate NP has implied TM does not feature in his plans, but he is contracted to BCFC until 2023, so perhaps easier said that done...

I had a look at a Hearts forum as he no longer seems to play, or start... and this is an interesting read, although a lot of 'X rated' adults only comments' ?

I get the distinct impression he has not impressed our Northern friends ?

Nailed on to get an offer, I think.

Arrived having not had a club in 6 months yet hasn’t missed a game since being called up against Preston.

Seems to have an excellent attitude & presumably on far lower wages than at the peak of his career.

Agree and hope your right re offer, I see no reason not to offer him a two year deal?  Clearly enjoyed his time here and spoken well about Bristol…cannot see many lot better than Timm Klose to be freebies?
