In what decade are you allowed to have (in your opinion) a club legend, only time I came across Atyeo was the breakfast named after him in the red and white cafe!

This is really really bad ( from a fan that was excited with the Manning appointment)

Very good performance from the lads!!

I'd say easily had the better half, noticed one of their centrebacks was getting frustrated that they could play it around us from the back.

In fact it’s how they treated us as imbeciles and disrespected a thoroughly decent group of people, Pearson, Fleming etc in their classless manner.
It was at least very cack handed which posed questions of competence or dishonest which questions the integrity of the guardians of our club.
Manning to succeed ? We hope so.The guys at the top have a long way to go to win back the trust of a good many of us mind.
And again it's a pearson thread,
The "thoroughly decent people" stuff is so agenda fitting. That is unless you know all the prior coaching staff on a personal level.
Not looking for an argument mate, for all I know you know Pearson very well.

Exactly Dave.
I think some people think we should never sign anyone again.
They seem to think we can reach the Premier League by just continually churning out players from the academy.
Ain’t gonna happen.
As for pathway blocking. Just because this kid is 19, why is he considered to be blocking a pathway whereas is we’d signed someone who was 28 would not be considered to be doing so?
Maybe it’s a simple fact that there aren’t any players coming through this current age group who we think can step up in the next 2-3 years.
As for Sam Bell - maybe the new manager doesn’t think he’s capable of taking us any higher. Maybe he sees him as a mid to lower champ player and we want to bring in upper level champ players.
Having a successful academy doesn’t mean we can’t sign young players.
Fair play Harry

Midtable top 10 maybe. We are miles ahead of 2 years ago thanks in no small part to NP and Gould plus Tinnion on the Academy side but we would need crazy form now to get 6th.
8 pages to mention the dynamic duo
It's getting better lads!

Yep, at 17, could well have decided that already
At what age do you suggest a club makes a decision on a players ceiling ?

If there’s an option (still seems tbc on that, city not mentioning, Belgian club say so) it makes more sense then just we have him for 4 months. Raekwan Nelson has been in squads and done extremely well in 21s, would’ve been absolutely comfortable and excited to see him blooded more between now and season end. Likewise the same with Yeboah to get more minutes like he did earlier in the season. Especially as the season could well be fizzling out. Very unlikely they are seen again this season, as an example.
Option changes things, as I say, and he hopefully ends up being a worldie, but I personally get more joy out of seeing the gradual blooding and development of our own youngsters vs having them ‘signed over’ for more short term reasoning.
Not a complain or any of this “moan if we sign someone moan if we don’t” tosh that gets thrown around. That’s just me.
What if a professional coach sees the likes of yeboah to just not have what it takes to have a place at this club ?

Presumably it'll mean even fewer minutes for people like Sam Bell, who could do with as much exposure as possible with our season going nowhere?
I'm all for loan signings with a purpose - the additions of people like Matt Smith and George Saville were huge when we were promoted - but there's got to be a longer-term vision than just seeing us through to a mid-table finish.
All opinions, though, innit.
Maybe Sam Bell just isn't good enough ? Maybe the season isn't over ffs

So, in your opinion, do you feel that we shouldn't have signed this player and who do you think should have been promoted to the first team from the academy whose pathway is now blocked?
Totally agree

The option to buy will silence a few on here, great work from the club this window thank christ buying the hasbeens on big wages is gone!

Contrived to become so officially at a time the club were desperate to create some positive publicity, but he will never be seen as the record holder to many of us who remain extremely annoyed by the whole shameful business.
To "us" that grew up watching Carey hes our record appearance holder

Agree about the small club mentality point, but nothing at all wrong with bouncing.
Problem is we haven't had success so we hold out for things that are "tinpot".
As for the bouncing, the things you lot moan about is mental. Dont care what's sang as long as it improves atmosphere.

I wonder if both he and TGH will get a retro ban. Prob not Williams as the ref saw it but TGH was ridiculous, I would discipline for that internally, he could have cost us the game. You have to keep your cool.

Class absolutely class, with twine added into the mix let's see if we can push on from this.
