Match Report: Sublime to Ridiculous as City Anonymous Again
Andrew_V1 replied to Olé's topic in Football Chat
Pring needs a run of games now as dasilva is utterly incapable of being productive in the final third and has been poor in this respect for a long time now. second half has a prime example where he was put through on the overlap and was indecisive and ends up lifting it to the back post with no one to go and attack it. Also we need to go back to wells and Conway as semenyo looks to be going through the motions. Offered next to nothing yesterday -
Why do we play with wingbacks if we don’t have any
Andrew_V1 replied to Better Red's topic in Football Chat
Very well put. For the amount of time in good positions per game jay gets into his output is abysmal. He will regularly end up in space with time to either shoot at goal or try to pick out a man but I’ve given up even getting up from my seat as you just know it’s going to be a pathetic attempt. For me he’s had enough time now and under three managers he has not improved. We need to invest time into cam now as I feel he has the greater potential of the two and no doubt less expensive -
Looking for answers - have we got a psychology problem?
Andrew_V1 replied to Curr Avon's topic in Football Chat
I think mentality is part of it, however the cold reality is numerous players simply aren’t good enough. O Leary would not get near a starting place in another championship side Vyner whilst much improved this season is not someone you’d look to bring in to build a defence at this level Dasilva has good close ball control but cannot deliver a quality cross with any regularity and can’t shoot. Going back to the original point though the inability to deal with the direct sides has been an issue for years ever since the LJ days and we haven’t exactly brought in many players since then that are up for a scrap and mix it up in the niggly games and so we go round and round getting done by the most basic tactics. It’s gone beyond frustrating now -

100 percent this as I feel we’re up against it now needs to be a siege mentality to try and spur them back to life Then again with the current set up with away fans all behind the one goal we basically concede the atmosphere at home! -

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say after the last 3 performances we have been found out -

If we have a fit experienced proven centre half available why on earth have we persisted with Andy king at centre half ? -
How many unforced errors and goals conceded are we prepared to accept before he gets dropped or moved to a different position? He just can’t help himself taking stupid unnecessary risks would much rather klose with Atkinson and vyner For all the flak vyner gets he’s looked way more solid than Naismith so far

Really good effort but Naismith needs to either change position or sort his bloody head out as we can’t keep doing this. infuriating as the team deserve better than having those stupid errors holding them back -

It’s an absolute disgrace how bad our defence lets the rest of our play down . -

Naismith needs to play further forward in midfield as he just can’t help doing stupid things at the back -

How I have missed the familiar frustration and disappointment Let’s hope this isn’t a habit that takes months to shake off again -
Nope his first full season we survived on the penultimate game by winning away at Brighton. The first full season we started well results wise but had to come back from behind virtually every week then the wheels fell off. Same season we had the famous interview with SL refusing to sack him for a horrendous run basically saying it’s my toy I put more money in. The following seasons cup exploits have really clouded peoples memory as that first full season was an absolute shambles
-
I think he was referring to the Tammy season where we survived the game before last day of the season. I think a lot have forgotten just a how dire LJ’s first full season was

Can we just end the season now? We really need to get some more mentally stronger players in the summer and we’ll be decent. for all our promise it is no coincidence we keep making stupid errors so we need to cut those who can’t keep their heads over 90+mins -

Andrew_V1 replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Strongly disagree by virtue of the position there are always keepers looking for game time and if we cannot find at least one keeper to come in who has better leadership and command of the box than our current selection then our scouting must by non existent -

Extremely irritating result which sums up where we are at this time we are starting to consistently play well and some of the kids are shining That said you cannot avoid the obvious and that is max is absolutely not good enough for this level, and the constant rabbit in headlights on the goal line moments are just way too common and a clear deficiency in his game -

Because by resorting to max it’s a safe guess to say Pearson doesn’t fancy Bentley for whatever reason. For all our good play we are undone by weakness at the back we need a proper keeper to come and claim crosses which we haven’t had since Nikki -

Max looks like a school boy out there . Bentley back in next game and sign a strong keeper in the summer as a priority -

Pitiful goal to concede . O’Leary for his positives should really come and attack that -
I can't recall seeing such a biased ref for a long time. A complaint has to be made as he was an absolute disgrace
-
Only another two decades and the penny might drop....

All well and good changing manager but some unbelievably still can’t see the obvious...the players are absolutely sh*t. A mismatch of mentally weak or never were good enough ‘footballers’ assembled under the previous regime as they would be subservient to the owners vanity manager and we now are left with this shambles. Plus look at the track record in our owners choices....

I don’t buy that look at the squad wilder assembled to take Sheffield Utd up? Also look at Coventry and Blackpool this year there’s no way their wages and fees come anywhere near ours. we have overspent like kids in a sweet shop on absolute litter we fans are suffering but the club are frankly getting what it deserves
