He took a knock not long beforehand & went off a Saints with cramp.

I knew there would be a Weimann pile on because we lost, he was ok today, offered far more than either Mehmeti or Bell did when they came on.

Exactly Graham.  Some don't have the intellectual capacity to think though so we get this knee jerk rubbish.

Weimann's pass to Conway first half on the left was our best bit of play all game

  2. One of the good things about Nige was his clarity in being a counter attacking side. He wanted us to be good in possession but it wasn't for possession's sake.

We had a way of playing that was different to most other sides. We look like we just want to be just samey.

Sadly this is the most disconnected i've ever felt from Bristol City. I didn't even care when Norwich scored the winner today.

Thanks Jon, Brian and the media team. You have made me feel so disconnected from the club that I don't even care.

Disconnected is the word to sum it up.

It is legally their club and they are behaving like it. The sooner they piss off the better.

Contracts don't work like that tho do they?

If AW hasn't asked to leave then let's say he goes to Derby for example purposes and they offer him half of what he's on here, we'd still have to pay him the other half. So whilst it's a saving, it's not much of a saving.

Yep  but, we could get someone from League 1 with the half a wage we've saved...

I don't think we "should've" beaten Bath. They were two tricky kicks for Sheedy and Finn Russell missed a gimme down the other end.

Disagree. We botched it. Should've kicked to the corner  (especially 2nd one). Saracens, Sale , Leicester with the same set of circumstances win that game.

The TMO in rugby is pretty much VaR but because it’s been in place far longer it’s use is much slicker.

    No.

Referee is in control in rugby and decisions are made publicly.

It's not slick, it's collaborative rather than the stitch up in football

Very obvious he's a football coach obsessive. A coach's coach.

When he said "I think about football pretty much every minute of every day" - I believed him.

High intensity, and he's going to expect the same level of intensity from everyone around him.

I have no doubts he's a very good coach, but as you point out, it'll come down to how good his other abilities are like leadership and creating a winning environment.

Based on tonight, I also have concerns about the people around him, namely the three plebs sat alongside him.

The guy he's brought in who was at Arsenal sounds interesting though - a coaching analyst?

How he manages the 3 plebs is key. Managing upwards.

Surprised more haven’t latched into the comment about Phil Alexander departure and Tinnions role

    Pretty revealing ....

And also we are now going to have some medical staff on treating injuries and some on strength and conditioning ......oh....👍🏻...... **** me that’s a revolutionary idea !

We had people doing both before. Trying to justify the line about injuries.

Judge the new set up in 6 to 12 months.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw less of Weimann in the starting 11.

If we going to transition into a more possession based team, I really can't see how he will fit in.

Can't fault his effort and his personal strengths. But imo...he doesn't fit the talk of a more possession based side.

Agree with that. He's ooc at the end of the season.

Wouldn't surprise me if he left in January tbh. Bit like Chris Martin last season. He'd have plenty of takers in the Championship.

Would free up wages for signings

People slag him off to high hell, but what this evening required was someone 'like' Ian Gay. I've seen him do it before at a Q&A with Steve Lansdown and he was sat in the front row basically leading proceedings. Asking difficult questions in a direct manner and always following them up so as to not let the person off the hook.

I'm afraid the problem tonight was the lack of somebody like that to get things kicked off early, then the night may have had a very different feel.

A huge opportunity missed, and now I guess we have to wait another 12 months before the next shitshow.

Get vf someone from Acorn in.  Don't have to have a clue what you're talking about, just agitate..

Very interesting comment by Brian, which may not have been heard. "Liam is keen to look at the academy to see if there is anyone before we recruit".  Not sure there is much choice in this, but if anyone is expecting us to be paying money for players, this is why we wont. Brian has openly just said he thinks there is about 10 players who could break through soon.....

I would prefer to hear that from Liam.

Sounds like the sort of thing an domineering mum would say. 'Jon is very keen to be Chairman Steve.  Aren't you Jon??'

With no relegation, maybe just content treading water until the reforms come in...

We have coughed up 7 points so far due to kicking. Should've beaten both Bath and Quins and got a point at Exeter. We're losing the small margins..

In addition to all of the reasons mentioned above, I get the impression that SL is maybe more willing to acknowledge others' expertise and knowledge where rugby is concerned than he is with football. The rugby chairman is Chris Booy who's been there long before Steve got involved, indeed it was him who approached Steve to see if he woud be interested in investing when the club was facing finanical ruin, and I think he's largely allowed to get on with it and have his views trusted in a way that somebody in an equivalent role at the football club might not be.

Rugby doesn't have the same sacking culture, but the roles are slightly different. Lam's position is more akin to a football manager of years past where they would be the most powerful sporting figure at the club and responsible for setting the culture etc, and would carry as much influence as a modern DoF/Techinical/Sporting Director and Manager/Head Coach combined.

Pearson's job was 'Manager' but his role was more akin to Lam's role as a Director of rugby.

They got through via play-offs, and ended up in the final, didn't they? Which they lost, actually, so, no, you're right: a rubbish Germany, tbf

Team changed after we hammered them. Michael Ballack came into the team as did likes of Klose

Oh I think we have, beating Germany 1-5 in Germany springs to mind immediately, but I know what you mean. We could even afford to let Bergkamp score the consolation goal that stopped the Scots from progressing out of the group. :)

I was at that Holland game.  It was easily the best England performance I can remember.  That was a really good Dutch team full of world class talent that won everything in the game.  Managed by Gus Hiddink.  Venables completely out thought them, Gazza, Mcmanaman and Sheringham were absolutely supreme that night.  The Germany win was great but that was a rubbish Germany team.

A second appearance at AG for Alex Scott today.

Only this time, looking at his Instagram, he seemed to be supporting Man Utd or at least his friend Maya Le Tissier.

Think they used to play in the same team in Guernsey
