  1. I think you've nailed it with the long balls, I still don't understand why we kept playing them, it really was infuriating as it just gave you more and more chances to attack with patient build up from the back. With regards to Kodjia, I think he'll come good if we play to his strengths, the problem is he plays better with the ball being played to hit feet in the final third and that only happened on one occasion and when it did he ran through two of your players and had a long range shot that was about a foot over. I just think we played him out of that match by giving you back the ball so frequently and expecting Kodjia and Wilbraham to work miracles with scraps!
  2. I disagree completely, they've got through the defence over and over again which is crazy when our defence has probably been the only decent performers today. Pack and Smith have not had any real impact on the game at all and instead we've resorted to playing long diagonal passes that for the most part saw us lose possession. Wilbs and Kodjia seemed to get little to no supply and then Kodjia got take off when out of him and Wilbs he looked the only one likely to create something from nothing. Freeman got little to no penetration through Wednesdays defence either so our three central midfielders were essentially just worked out of the game. I can't decide if it's the formation or the difference in quality but one thing is certain, we hoofed far too much for the first 60 minutes and after going 2-0 down we started actually passing the ball short and the players were showing for the ball. If Cotterill thinks we can just do what we did last season in the Championship I'm a little worried as the quality in this league is much much higher and we won't get results by playing long diagonal passes over and over.
  3. I hate when people have this attitude, of course people are going to see this as a bad omen, we've looked outclassed in almost every area of the pitch and showed no signs of being able to adapt when outplayed. I don't think this formation will work in this league, not without some very impressive central midfielders, we've got nothing in the middle.
  4. AWFUL! Absolutely awful by Fielding!!!! Deserve to lose today. Piss poor! I feel sorry for the defence, they've worked their a**es off but we really need to strengthen the midfield. Totally outclassed in the middle today.
  5. Fredericks looks like a good coup, looks comfy on either side, pacey, willing to take players on, good touches.
  6. The one position we don't have back up for, or at least not naturally and it's an injury. Hope it's only a little knock for Bryan.
  7. Holding on by a thread right now, they should be two up with their chances.
  8. Defence is playing very well, some fantastic tackles, when we get in the final third we also look dangerous, the issue seems to be in the middle, we just don't seem to getting penetration and don't have options in the middle. When we get down the wing and actually get the ball in we're also getting chances.
  9. I'm sure we'll pick up but with the pressure we're under right now if something doesn't wake the players up and we concede the game could easily get away from us. We seriously need to stop hitting long passes so much and start coming shorter to offer and build up chances. The amount of long passes we've played that haven't met their target is ridiculous.
  10. We're not under a bit of pressure, we're totally pinned back, barely seeing the half way line, really need to actually get up the pitch!
  11. In all fairness if we draw and Preston take their game in hand that leaves us only 5 points behind us, Preston are not as far behind as people seem to think they are.
  12. 4 minutes.... long lead that! For the love of god my fear is we could actually let this title slip, need to keep winning but it's a small squad >.< COYR!
  13. What's making me nervous is Preston are not dropping points and have games in hand, now it's looking like we could drop enough for them to catch up. Pressure is on, time to shine.
  14. Regardless of possession and so on we do need to score again and kill Rochdale off, we need all 3 points today to turn the screw on MK Dons seeing as they're losing.
  15. Well this is dire.. Be happy with a point but don't see that happening.
  16. Bristol City - 11 shots, only one on target. Sheffield United 9 shots, seven on target! Not a good stat that one.
  17. The positives are that if we're having a blip so are Swindon and MK Dons. If we're going to drop points it's best to do it when the opposition do, still a great opportunity gone out of the window, win today really would have turned the screw.
  18. Lucky that the others are losing too but if we lose we've essentially lost a good chance to go an extra 3 points clear. Time for City to dig deep now!
  19. The hell?! Even Sky Sports had it come up as him being sent off :/ And BBC also have it as a sending off.
  20. According to the stats on BBC we're being hammered, way it's sounding I'd be happy with the point. Hope City come out fired up in the second!
  21. Today's game is huge, really hoping for all 3 points. This month as a whole could be where we find out if we'll get automatic promotion, MK Dons and Sheffield United.... tough games!
