Don't be so ******* miserable. We're going to lose games and this is away, we still won the last two and even if we lose this 6 from 4 since SOD took over is enough to stay up. We need positive support not defeatist negativity.

FFS this is the problem with these forums.... you can't say anything negative even when you're watching the club go down the pan.

I haven't given up on the club but I'm also not going to say "yay we have 16 games left", "yay we have 15 games left", "yay we have 14 games left" etc I want to see us win games... sue me, I'm not going to be happy with losing when we simply cannot afford to lose right now.

I love this club so I want us to win, I want us to turn it around, I'm aware we're not going to win 16 games but the sooner we get more points and get to safety the happier I'll be, deal with it.

16 and we're 5 points behind Wolves and 7 behind Ipswich, Sheff Wed and Bolton. We're even currently 3 points behind a team who are in the relegation with us.

I swear sometimes people need to accept we're in the s***, yes it's possible to get out of but it's also possible for Liverpool to win the Premiership but let's face it.... it's not likely.

I've not given up but the fact is we need to turn this result around, we need to average 1.3 points a game, this game we're getting 0 which mean the points per game needed will go up! It's not getting better is it!

Everything going wrong here, we really need to turn this around or we're in a really bad situation

Finally the clean sheet and against the top scorers of the league! Could moan and b**** that Barnsley won too but at the end of the day a 2-0 win over Watford seemed an impossibility before the game.

I really hope this is what it takes to get the lads believing in themselves and drives us onto survival

Shocked but very happy... now the lads have to prove they can defend as well as get the goals!

It's not so much about the table, it's getting to 52 points. Someone else will fall down and get involved. It's THREE points closer to the target. IMHO

Well I personally think 50 is enough, the last three seasons would have seen any team survive with 50 but in one season 41 would have been enough, it's all on others teams so dismissing them could be costly. Yes 52 points will keep us up but then again so could 42 if three other teams are awful.

Watching other results is just as important to me as us getting our own because realistically we need three teams to be awful this season for us to survive and we need to improve still a hell of a lot. GD is not going to be an ally when we've still not managed to keep a clean sheet and so my view is:

45 points is a realistic and potentially relegation surviving total depending on other results. 50 is the target, 45 is the must reach. This means we have to get 1.4 point's per game in order to reach the 50 mark or 1.111etc to reach 45.

Looking at it that way we're still in a bad way with very few games remaining, it means even if we managed to draw every game this season we'd still go down in either circumstance which means we need a good few wins because we're obviously still going to take quite a few loses with a team that can't keep a clean sheet.

I know people don't want to hear this negativity, especially not after a win but it does show that Fontaine could end up being the sole reason we go down, he's in a crucial position on the field and performing to the worst standard you could imagine. I honestly think more positivity would come if he was removed from our equation, a loan CB was brought in and suddenly one change could see results and the crowd getting behind the team. I honestly think Fontaine is a major part of what's currently holding us back, not just because of his own confidence but the players confidence and trust who are playing with him.

So glad to be proved wrong but the league table still doesn't look very kind to us and we're still without a clean sheet... but a win is a win and it's 3 points!

haha I'm trying to stay positive but I think my brain is starting to win over my heart... I'd love to think we can win this today but like I said, something just doesn't sit right. Not going to stop me hoping for the best though

Got a weird feeling about today that with all the expectation and our current run of form and so on that we may get beaten by 2 goals, I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose 3-1 or 2-0.... I would however say we need a win today as a loss today would kill almost any momentum we've got from bringing in SOD.

I refuse to give up yet but I think 5 games from now if we've not closed the gap between us and 21st position to 2 points and we're still more than 5 adrift I think we're all but done.
