  1. Albeit I would add that Leeds would require retrenchment, Southampton even moreso. Both woukd see the FFP headroo to 2024-25 shrink by £30m or so. Ipswich otoh may not be able to retrench so much. How are Birmingham doing this investment given their Accounts and the FFP rules. I've looked in some depth and they've already used £25m less Allowables in 2022-23. Seemed to be posting a 6 month loss despite and including some rises and the Bellingham money. Bellingham money won't be replicated this summer. Naming rights or not, there are Fair Value rules attached to the RPTs.
  2. I'd be quite happy with 2 years personally. Third year Idk but would any Championship club offer him that at this time.
  3. This is also true. To be honest I look at the League and an increasing number of rivals I dislike for a range of reasons really. Leicester, maybe breached FFP once if not twice. Leeds, well nuff said..Ipswich, Ashton, Southampton, Martin, Norwich and West Brom, been propped by Parachute Payments for too long. QPR, I wonder how they seemingly have complied with FFP, I see no substantial sales, Birmingham arrogant. Cardiff and Swansea nuff said, Millwall have some troublesome fans let's say although perhaps a greater emphasis on history.
  4. There is another key difference @Olé Really moderate injuries to key players. Compare to us when Rolls etc were here, thinking the medical side specifically in this bit. Checked the availability of their January players too and was very good at in stage. Unsure abiut now.
  5. Still time for the figurehead who I despise, come on Huddersfield, Leeds and whenever finishes 6th. I pray they lose each game they play..loyal to the team or the regime are we. You and some others I really do wonder about.
  6. I am sure they're in line with FFP but I'm querying where Murphy is getting his figures from exactly. Possibly he is Conflating Net Spend and the Intangible Assets will also include at the very least Loan Fees in addition to Transfer Fees. They will be nowhere near e.g. Leicester, Leeds, Southampton in respect of expenditure of wage bill, probably below a number of others too but they will have increased, which if course was ably assisted by revenue rises post Promotion too.
  7. More fool Tinnion and Jon Lansdown then. I grow to dislike the ******* at the top of the club more by the day.
  8. Injuries are an issue, yea. As for the providing of the assists, he is deeper so that isn't too likely but pass before the pass, key passes, breaking the lines. When he is deeper midfield the risk over reward that you describe feels less likely. At centre back it is a greater risk sure.
  9. Southampton have a major swing into the red FFP wise for one as the starting point, albeit the major sales laat year. Whether Martin goes Idk but subtract £22m from their Upper Loss limit and £10m from Year 2 for Parachute Payments, ditto for Leeds. Which assets will be sold? Adams to name one is out of contract.
  10. What Slarti said. Oh it is an insane total for sure ,3 sides on 90 plus is an exceptionally intense and high standard top 3 race, looked like Southampton could make it 4 and they do merit a fair bit of credit, but lucky or good I suspect the injury record assists them, continuity- consistency, it all very much feeds in. I'd forgotten about Rolls as Pete mentioned but we had our very worst injury season with him at the helm.
  11. Think shade under 80% in starts.alone! Will check it all again. We aren't a lucky club let's be honest. McCrorie missed how long after signing, half a season?? Bailey Wright, Sykes, Diedhiou retrospective bans in varied circs, all unusual and unlucky. You think we are a lucky club @Super ?? This should be good..
  12. GK: Hladky- 45 Starts DF: Clarke- 25 Starts plus 10 Sub Appearances Burgess- 37 Starts plus 1 Sub Appearance Woolfenden- 39 Starts, plus 1 Sub Appearance Davis- 42 Starts Luongo- 36 Starts, plus 6 Sub Appearances Morsy- 41 Starts Broadhead- 29 Starts, plus 9 Sub Appearances Burns- 30 Starts, plus 4 Sub Appearances Chaplin- 41 Starts, plus 2 Sub Appearances Hirst- 23 Starts, plus 2 Sub Appearances Did their loanees get many injuries either? Twine was out for 2 months after 1 game 1 Goal, dunno if Moore, Travis etc had much time out either. You run this season 19 more times, you won't get this likely outcome for Ipswich, 1 in 20 IMO.
  13. The smug slimy tosser is the sole issue I have with Ipswich really. Still hope somehow Huddersfield look for a miracle, albeit the GD means they are almost.gone.
  14. Luck. Or some of it anyway, I checked a while ago and couldn't believe some of the availability ratio.
  15. They also have had some incredible availability of key players, rather defies logic.
  16. Man for man, a squad with a number of 30 plus outfield players, man for man not that amazing, unless they have gambled big financially. Live in hope that Huddersfield a desperate Huddersfield can pull a win and then it's up to Leeds. Still hope they find a way to blow it at the last.
  17. Bentley, O'Leary Hunt, Simpson, Baker Vyner, Kalas, Mariappa, Moore Pring, Dasilva, Rowe Massengo, Nagy, Walsh, Lansbury Bakinson, Williams Watkins, O'Dowda, Adelakun Palmer Diedhiou, Semenyo, Martin, Wells (Weimann) Bajic, Thomas Tanner, McCrorie, Dickie, Atkinson, Roberts Knight, James, TGH, King, Naismith Cornick, Sykes Mehmeti Twine and Dire That is a thinning out and no mistake. For both managers post Summer 2021. Some gaps have been filled by existing players being utilised well ie O'Leary, Vyner and Pring plus youth flourishing in the firm of Bell and Conway- Benarous but cor injuries could maybe have been one too. Scott and Semenyo too of course but the latter had to go in particular due to FFP. We have for a range of reasons been thinning out on experience and numbers for 2 years now, I'd implore them to try and get James to stay.
  18. That was only and probably in part due to the sudden combination of Scott being sold and McCrorie being injured for an indeterminate period. Cover for 2ish positions in 1 was one element.
  19. 2, possibly 3 in midfield. In the past we have gone wirh the latter. McCrorie is sketchy, Roberts?? Naismith needed to fill in at CB at times or in the back 3. Feels a bit thinly spread as it did under NP too
  20. Naismith is still contracted until 2025, that isn't to say transfers can't happen of course but Free Agent in 2025 as it stands.
  21. Well I hope that whatever calls are made are down for the right reasons. The fact that they haven't mentioned a new contract offer for James is disappointing IMO. Irrespective of late October, I feel it's a mistake.
  22. This thinking that James is on a big wage I don't fully buy it. A reasonable wage sure, as big as stated..he joined us when the process of cutbacks was beginning and back with NP, King and even briefly Simpson plus Rennie- pull factors so I dunno.
  23. What I would add. No issue, hope common sense prevails. A natural instinct. Hopefully the club will see sense and any other relevant bodies the same, but to what extent is it in their hands? By which I mean any risk of an FBO or I dunno what, bring imposed? Obviously if it was, there is the right of Appeal but the Club at time of verdict, would be duty bound to enforce I expect. Appeal would change that if successful. A club ban is separate, not Court enforced as such etc. Hopefully it doesn't reach that point, all parties should act sensibly but this post is a suggested possible scenario.
  24. As I stated before, Rule 2.10.1 can be interpreted as being the real time period to the existing season...EFL should have tried to push this to the CFRP possibly.
