  1. Haha quite. Intrigued though as to the Cardiff vow of silence on it. Their local reporters do not refer afaik, their forums again The odd individual post here and there but no great detail.
  2. I agree. Specifically about this, definitely I've looked for a while and i's so difficult to find any kinda Cardiff fan discussion on FFP implications. It's a bit of a myth among fans not just Cardiff that's gone round tbh, seen it on Twitter, that FFP was and is suspended.
  3. Theoretically does it open a door to sign players on loan with a fee in January? That could be useful albeit a clear gaming of the system. The £39m is the elephant in the room . I've been looking for Cardiff fan discussion on it, very hard to find. A moderator on Cardiff 606 seems comcincrf that it's been suspended due to Covid the loss limit and irs more about compliance with general financial regulations, the EFL site does not reflect this though, I see no evidence that the limit remains suspended. Surely an Agreed fiscal plan would be inclusive of keeping within FFP limits?
  4. That is the other side of the coin of course, rejection of said opportunity for him by us if a bid is made...yeah he may not be too happy as you say.
  5. Saw a good point on Twitter however, he went back to Stoke post injury didn't he, could he have been referring to someone up there.
  6. There is some truth to this although I would say his man-management has been suspect for some time. The Fielding story earlier was interesting, this too...Magnússon at Preston occasionally cited and I believe loaning Moore out January 2020, dunno. That's more of a personal view though, the others are quite well documented.
  7. The big saving grace for Chelsea if rumoured fees are correct isn't Saudi Arabia but their own domestic rivals. Kovacic- £25m up front, £5m more in add-ons. Mount- £55m? Man United recent rejected bid was £45m up front and £5m in add-ons (Chelsea reportedly want £60m with another £5m in add-ons). Havertz- £60m up front perhaps, £5m more in add-ons. Whereas £42m for the 3 of Mendy, Koulibaly and Ziyech reportedly . Gross fees- actually may post a loss on their book value. (I know, I know- future wage savings and amortisation savings).
  8. Mbappe, Vinicius will both be at Madrid probably for years but I do see where you are going with it. PL do have Fair Value rules for transfers but how to go about enforcing...
  9. Daily Mail says Inter are set to make an £18m bid. If so. Too low of course.
  10. On another Cardiff note. https://www.cardiffcityforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=234142&sid=4426f99a851c43f50ca0efe67e28bccd Looks ike they are pressing ahead with their Sala case. €110m?? Pre-trial hearing. Wonder if they're looking to include potential compensation in their P&S calculations. Which would be an absolute nonsense.
  11. This verdict feels like a fudge. My bigger question with Cardiff is, as always, P&S. Who are they selling and how far have they cut costs. £39m adjusted loss is a £39m adjusted loss.
  12. Chances created is the better metric and he has created 38. However 57 players in the division do rank above him for this but then again I expect all 57 above him and I say 57 above, there will be multiple on the same numbers, will all be older than him which in turn bumps up his number. Swift e.g. has created 108 but then again Swift is 27 and turns 28 tomorrow. When you weight in those with equal numbers, he's joint 32nd with Johansen and Louza.
  13. Which may well he worth more to them as the TV money alone is £7-8m greater. Worth it if they go up.
  14. Ranked 58th in the division If we use this metric, but then again for age, experience, position, strength and style of the side he will be well above 58th I expect once weighted for that. https://www.fotmob.com/leagues/48/stats/season/17834/players/total_att_assist
  15. We wouldn't. I suppose the downside risk is if the players head gets turned, he is discontented, unhappy etc. Not the easiest sell to keep him at his top level, even if distraction rather than disruption if we turn down a bid from a higher ranked club.
  16. Tbh yeah agree cashflow seems the major one. If they did have any upcoming, selling O'Shea should resolve for a while.
  17. Could be partially due to the other financial reasons too, ie MSD, owner not repaying loan etc. Perhaps a mix of that and FFP.
  18. Interesting that he is going even below his release clause. £7m fee vs £8m release clause..no Parachute Payments means sales inevitable of course. They are also on the £39m limit now going into this year as the final PL Season has disappeared from view
  19. Little bit on Wolves, they must have got themselves into one hell of a hole. I also question whether the Premier League in real time with other clubs who have spent a lot.
  20. Not sure really. Probably not a great amount, what @Davefevs said.
  21. If Vyner was to come onto the market what would we get? I'd rather we don't sell btw. Collins was £11-12m from Stoke, summer 2021. Element of FFP of course, had a contract until 2024. Is he an International of some kind? Souttar was £15m from Stoke January 2023. Had 2.5 years left on deal and had just played in World Cup with Australia. Dara O'Shea with 2 years left, but we know West Brom have the uncertainty about ownership and how reliable they are let's say, as well as MSD and Parachute Payments. Reportedly £7m fee. Ireland international.
  22. I think they would be better served restructuring some of the debt repayment with levers or cost savings, and then perhaps paying down some of it faster as they are a naturally high revenue club which will reflect itself when debt and interest burden reduced. This approach seems rather risky.
  23. West Ham seem more financially able than Wolves once the Rice move goes through although they will he looking for FFP reasons be looking to have a net spend of £0. So say they get £100m for Rice..will they spend 25 pct of that on Scott? Depends how much of the side they want to revamp I guess.
