Ah you're not wrong there @Swede .
Truthfully, laughing at Rovers? Like fish in a barrel in most instances, we're so far ahead there's little point- but this is a very good exception!

To be fair, football specials (whilst part of the problems of the 70s and 80s) WOULD get more fans travelling.
The costs of using the rail network for national journeys is a blocker for a number of people.
It is true isn't it- cheaper trains would obviously encourage more fans to travel- whether it's financially feasible, I don't know but they definitely would.

Surrey have been the standout for sure. Slightly frustrating that probably in recent seasons a haul of 200 points/7 wins may have won us the title.
Dont rule out Surrey hitting 550 and then skittling Essex out for 50!
They are going at over 4 an over so couldn't rule anything out!
Yeah, the threshold seems pretty high this year - in Div 2 as well, both Kent and Warwickshire after 13 games had 219 points and are basically playing for the title against each other last game- looks highly likely to go to Warwickshire.
Somerset appear to have become a bit of a 'nearly' team in the 4 day game last decade- I remember watching from afar (and tbh happy for them to win Championship because it's good for sport in region etc- definitely not a courtesy I apply to Bristol Rovers Swindon ).

I'm a Gloucs fan so looking in from the outside- and up enviously.
However, 2nd place for you seems about right tbh- Surrey unbeaten. maybe not now in a dead rubber but batting well looking to keep their unbeaten record IMO (they're 205/1 2nd time around)- and the 2 games between the top 2, Surrey were comprehensively better- especially the first.
As for us, looks like we could well win our final game.
Next season in 2019, 3 going up gives us a chance- which means the chance in the 2020 cricket season for West Country derbies in the 4 day game!

Sounds similar to when they hounded Paul Trollope out. He did a decent job of keeping them in mid table but that wasn't good enough for them so they got him out and then tumbled all the way down to non league.
Pretty sure their (utterly hilarious) descent began or at least coincided with them giving Lennie Lawrence the old heave ho.
Pretty sure I wore a City shirt to work on the Monday after they slipped out the League- for the benefit of their fans who I worked with!
If they sack DC they can 'go again', repeat the slump/journey and give us much mirth once more!

Would advise caution about labelling people liars or worse online, on an open forum at that- Henbury Gas appears to have got himself into quite a mess, but online defamatory laws are increasingly stringent, yet not so well know about.
Do what you want, just putting it out there.

Just to clarify, on reflection my use of the term 'stirring the pot' may have been an injudicious use of words by me.
Happy to call it an 'interesting' take- couldn't edit it because edit facility seems to run out fairly quickly on here.

Hello, some of this is interesting- or inflammatory potentially?
Our old friend Henbury Gas stirring the pot again eh??

After all, they are accustomed to A&S Police doing **** all to stop them and even going so far as to have a servicingpolice officer on their forum who often seems to fail to bring their fans to order. Strange that 8 of the 10 were issued with dispersal orders if they were all so innocent. And as for a breach of human rights, that clearly doesn't apply to shitheads cos they are all sub human.
The Other PC liaison officer PC Mark Thomas, who is assigned to the Rovers will be joined by another officer.

So the flip side of Taunton's pitch at Trent Bridge Notts got 448 and 93/1 v Yorkshire's 498. How does that help English bowlers? 21 wickets in 4 days and hands shook just after tea on day 4 because there's no chance of a result...
It's an interesting balancing act- we have to often face flat pitches abroad and it can prep them for that!

Fancy messing that one up...
Surrey's title now surely- even if not quite mathematically yet!

Nothing wrong with sitting behind Poles. They helped us beat the Nazis.
Fair chance at their ground (Rovers not Nazis!) you'll be stood/sat especially as a newbie, behind more than a few planks too!

Outstanding result!
Would have gladly taken a point at 3pm, but winning away to a side who let's not forget unbeaten and who won at Bramall Lane and drew with a Leeds side who look excellent so far.
Wonder who the top scorer is now...might it be Weimann?
What a difference a week makes though, blimey!

Remind me how many new signings City made in the summer?
To say nothing of injuries/bans to key players from last season.
Combine the 2 and it's not quite a new squad I think, but a big turnaround all the same.
-
Good win- albeit away to a very poor side who seem to have badly regressed on last season.
However Weimann is doing great, very happy for Taylor getting a goal there, of course winning at a ground we haven't gone to and win at since 1970 odd has to be a bit alright?
Still much to do, much to improve on- but this will undoubtedly boost confidence.
The team and LJ did what was necessary, at a time like this especially. They made sure we found a way to win.
-
How is/has Pisano done at CB- believe he's playing there tonight.
QPR very poor but I hope this will prove to be a springboard, something for us to take forward
-
Great signing- 4 goals already Weimann!!
-
For about half hour, we werebeing outnumbered and outmanoeuvred. Who cares though, we're winning- worry about the tactics another day. Taylor scoring nice to see too.

Am I right in thinking that if we don't win tonight LJ will have set a new record for City of consecutive away games without a win?
In League or in League and Cups?
Fairly sure it wouldn't be anyway...given some of the terrible streaks we've had it'd be going some!

Massive game tonight. Our best opportunity for an away win for a while. Can we win our first away game since Fulham last October!
If we do win then it could give the confidence to improve both our home and away performances and, looking at fixtures we could go on to get 12-14 points from our next 8 games. If we lose to an awful QPR side then where do we go from there? Especially away from home. Could end up getting 6-8 points from next 8 games.
I have never been a 'Johnson Out' fan as I am happy to see us build over time but it does feel like tonight is bigger than most games. Confidence is nearly as important as ability!
Must've imagined those late winners at Hull and Sheffield United then?

As far as I can tell we’ve adopted the ‘stand around and watch’ approach to defending so I can’t say I’m surprised!
Great positioning can look like that, for screening and turning over of the ball...but this seems in short supply with us!

The stats are interesting...We have indeed made the least tackles per game so far (8.3).
The team who have made 2nd least per game? Middlesborough, with 13.
Rather more worryingly though, we have also made 2nd least interceptions. I always took the view that if you don't tackle so much you press and intercept in key areas a lot more to compensate, but 6.7 of those per game, when combined with the tackles- is not good at all!
-
A battle, a draw likely IMO- can't see it being a great watch either.
Let's hope nobody's got any freak injuries today to add to our current list...

Bristol Rovers- the joke that keeps on giving.
