And another 'lest we forget'
Want a ******* poppy??? Rotherham were dogshite, but you’ve got to beat what was in front of you, and that was successful. Today was not a game where they’ll be a 25th anniversary celebration or a special shirt. Professional performance against a very poor team that was all.

Well according to many on this forum, Manning's City can't break down the lesser teams. Then we beat Plymouth, Blackburn, Swansea and now Rotherham (maybe Stoke next week), and the new criticism is that the opponents aren't good enough.
Not a criticism nor a slight at Manning, merely an observation on Rotherham. Countered with the fact we were playing some good stuff. Not sure of the need to be quite so fractious and take umbrage at every line in the thought that everything is an insinuation.
Perhaps the forum needs the season to come to an end…

It was a curious fact to reach for when we should be celebrating a dominant performance
Sometimes you have to admit the opposition are not all that. Some good stuff being played though.

Big fan of Cam but if he never had another shot I wouldn't be too upset
Cam with Joe Bryan’s shooting ability would be nice. Although that combo would probably be in the Prem before us…

Am very much liking Roberts in the back 3 now. Looking very classy

Hope the city bench have some earplugs in with Evans and his assistant in the other dugout
And a previous manager of ours was regularly described as a dinosaur…
Evans is a unit though…

Vaguely pleasing start. No on the beach mentality on display thus far.

Not really an exodus but a funny story from an away game at Brentford.
Think we lost 3-2 or Drew 2-2. Mate went for a piss and missed our first goal, was too slow finishing a half time pint and missed our second goal.
Same friend missed Jon Stead’s goal at home to Coventry just after half time and had to leave early and missed Bolasie and Woods goals at the death. (how bleak were those times? Old useless players and next to no excitement)
I can recall a game at Brentford where we lost 4 or 5 - 1, after making full use of the pubs around the ground pre-match, the only goal I missed through needing to take an in game pee was ours…
My memory is hazy as to our scorer or the year so it could have been Andy Cole, Nicky Maynard or some Scottish fella (Lee- something) who was supposed the next best thing but failed at City.

Hes like the no6 padding up at the start of an innings, just in case!
In most teams I’ve played for this is pretty much standard….. Don’t tend to have long games if batting first

Pretty much this.
I thought Bobby Madley was exceptional on Wednesday, but noticing a referee for a good performance is a rarity.
On a more usual basis, the highest compliment I can pay to a referee is that I don't really notice them. I didn't really notice much of Rebecca Welch's performance today - she was only notable because she is a woman.
I thought she was good, noticed the communication throughout, always talking to the players, rather than dictating. Thought the ref got most of the calls right, though I’d like to see the pen again.

It was a poor performance, but if you want amazing football every week, go and support Man City
Grow up. Mentioned on an earlier post that some people having a go at one particular individual was getting tiresome…. Attack the post not the poster. Lots of people including me have been saying it was a dreadful game. Should I be going to watch Man City as well???

Probably didn’t deserve that. Although they would not have conceded the pen if they’d not wasted so much time on the shithousery. Reap what you sow.

Punished for such a pedestrian 1st half performance. Terrible choice to pair Williams with James in centre midfield, Sykes with one of his off performances too.
Williams, Sykes & McCrorie all very poor.
Got to be honest hard to pick anyone who’s had a decent game. A real season ticket advert this one.

Rubbish goal and a rubbish game. Typical city really, look decent in a couple of games and then distinctly average for the next, and distinctly average is doing a lot of work here.

Dull as dishwater this.

Pring with a back pass from the centre circle gets the whole crowd moaning noo noo nooooo
Think half the problem is the lack of movement up front. James seemed to be waving his hands suggesting he had no one to play forward to.

Williams has been total cack so far, I'd get him off at HT
If cack is the qualifier for substitution, I don’t think we’ve got enough subs…

We praise O'Leary when he does things well, but his kicking isn't his finest quality and letting us down today.
Wonder if that collision has injured him. His kicking has been off since then

Could be one of those where player wants to leave but Burnley under no obligation to sell and with parachute payments under no pressure financially. I suspect this one may go through towards the end of the window, leaving him a couple of months to get up to speed. Useful player but no Jacki Dziekanowski (age being firmly shown)
