  1. Wait a sec.... But he doesn't get assists according to some on here?
  2. Wasn't aiming to be negative per sé. We were the better of two teams. Just no need to get carried away with the result and performance against a team of cones in the first half.
  3. Oh I quite agree.... I wouldn't say our line up was Championship material either. It wasn't a criticism of Cov, more a 'don't get carried away' comment.
  4. I wouldn't call the team Cov played last night "a decent championship side".
  5. Because, to an extent, I can understand how some idiots can get carried away with themselves in the moment of something like a genuine local derby or another game. That might genuinely mean something. Frankly I find your response to the OPa far more 'odd comment'.
  6. Sorry you and your boy had to experience this. It shouldn't be the case and quite frankly I don't know why football 'fans' have to be like this when other teams sports don't have the same. And at a pre-season friendly makes it even more deplorable. Wanting to take my 7 year old (he saw one game when he was 4) but its behaviour like this that puts me off.
  7. Someone get Dasilva a step ladder to get over the hoardings.
  8. Short termism approach. If players cannot get motivated they need to be moved on (easier said than done I know). I see a group who are storming. There are clearly players calling es h other out. Long term (if we can wait that long) they'll be a better group for this hard run.
  9. Teh trouble with your assessment is that every other manager in the league is trying for the same. Therefore, if everyone else is making steps forward any steps we make forward would have to be far in excess. And give the lack of quality and mental strength in some of the players in our squad it would have to be huge leaps.

    Passing

I honestly don't think that with the players available there is a solution. I do agree though the lack of movement in midfield is a core problem. I've never seen a CM player move less or more slowly then Tyreeq Bakinson. Even LJ in his time was more dynamic. James/King/O'Dowda are not dynamic, Massengo is the only one who in that position can create space but if he's the only one doing it hell easily be picked off.
  11. Surely if you sack one or both of those individuals you have to pay them off?
  12. I seem to remember a number of vocal moaners.. I mean posters.... Clamouring for an experienced head to be brought into the club in a role similar to Pat Lam. Give them control to build the football on and off the pitch rather than having a head coach for the on the pitch/training ground and a CEO who does everything off the pitch. Now some of those posters seem to not like what they asked for. Personally, I see a man who is very clever and is building for the long term. The application of sport psychology is there for all to see. If you can't see what is happening I'd suggest Remeber the Titans as what's happening at the moment screams of a group of people that have come out of the forming phase of group dynamics and are in the storming phase.
  13. The sheer delusion shown by some of our fans is hilarious and are summed up in this post!
  14. Have to say this is spot on. But have you noticed that the ability to do lal of this has disappeared since Massengo got injured?
  15. Think you'll find we had more than two shots on target. After all their keeper saved a shot from Wells in the first half, the goal and the save the keeper made in the 2nd half (which cannot be chalked as a shit on goal as the ref gave a goal kick). Stats, stats, and damned lies ???
  16. Don't disagree with that. Buy not sure he is at fault for not scoring that opportunity given where was shooting from. If it goes in everyone is saying what a superb finish it was. If the keeper did not pull that save off everyone is raving about the quality of the finish.
  17. To be fair from where he was the odds are on not scoring I think. Great save by the keeper though.
  18. Do you mean the Wells 1 on 1 that the keeper pulled off a great save to tip it onto the post and out for a corner but which the ref gave a goal kick?
  19. Disagree. COD up front should at this stage of the game be running his nuts off to press. If you leave Wells on who had been doing it all game what would be said 'should have taken hi off for fresh legs' That substitution decision was not the problem, however much some people might like to make out it was! I want to see: - the Scott penalty shout (Scott didn't seem furious about it not being given but Wiemann and James did) - the Baker penalty, Baker seemed furious with the ref suggesting he thinks he got a foot on it (not sure how he would have) or that the Forest player went down (nobody else seemed angry with the ref though suggesting it was a pen). - the last goal as Bentley seemed insensed that the handball was not given but other were screaming offside (which they'd often get wrong if they were ball watching though). Screams to me of poor game management and individual mistakes again.
  20. Cahill in on a free. True. Why are we not competing with teams like Bournemouth? Because players like Cahill are on £75k a week!!! There in lies the difference. Wage budget not transfer fees my friend!
  21. Absolutely, I was at the game on Wednesday and you are right about how a result can polarise opinions. Chris Martin won nearly everything that was lumped up to him (which was a lot given our midfield was virtually non-existent for 60 minutes). He didn't have a cracking game but then nor did anybody. Andi Wiemann was terrible, making runs that blocked off midfielders or Atkinson when they did try to carry the ball and run at Millwall. Standing on the platform to come back to London Bridge though all the talk was about how crap Martin was and how we are relegation fodder if we continue to play like that. Like you a sense of reality is needed. We are not going to be a top 4 team who win week in week out playing attractive expansive football. We need to battle for points by out running and outpressing the opposition (which is pretty much what Dave Rennie confirmed the fitness side of it is being set up to do). We'll also need to hold tight and wait as finances being what they are in football it's likely to be at least 2 seasons before some of the players here that Pearson might like to be rid of now are moved on.
  22. Well it was a hilarious comment. To say that you have no idea of price brackets but also that your glad we haven't done a Derby/Reading shows you're totally aware why we've not bought a proven goalscorer. Our finances aside, how many proven Championship goalscorerkng strikers were actually available? And how many would have accepted a transfer to a team predicted to be lose to relgation after being in relegation form for much of last season. think we're all disappointed with the mismanagement of the Ashton era but it is what it is and we cna only move forward, gettkng behind this group of players while they're the ones we have and playing a waiting game until a) our finances improve and b) our attractiveness to other players rises.
