  1. Oh Great! What with CEO going, this planning issue and no home win yet we've had more positive times. Still, by 2145 tonight... COYR's
  2. I was there. Good old Ray Cashley. Good shot stopper if I remember correctly but not great at crosses (like a few of our keepers since)
  3. We have several international breaks during the season and also when the team is away or its a long journey (? to those fans that go home and away) please consider local non league football. They'd appreciate your support. I personally go to Clevedon town where the welcome is friendly and the football good. And you can enjoy a pint on the terraces whilst standing up! Weston, Portishead, Nailsea and Tickenham are all worth a visit. These clubs have a hand to mouth existence and don't have access to the money swilling around at the top of the game Give it a go if you can
  4. Stats mean absolutely b****r all without three things we've missed at home for a while Decent entertainment, the ball hitting the net regularly and three points Oh and a bouncing atmosphere (that's 4 things then!) COYR's
  5. Think he was my first manager when I started watching. Remember the sessions training in the park living not far away (Luckwell road) and had (a little later) Gerry Gow and Billy Menmuir in digs a few doors away. Happy days
  6. I'm in S25 and I'll help but I do think all this S82/Ultras c**p is overblown If what they do improves the atmosphere yep, I'm all for it but they've also done some really stupid stuff (stupid purile chants-please stop the Joey Bartons mother c**p, throwing stuff onto pitch, invading blocks in the Dolman)
  7. Just read threads on OTIB about scoreboard, tannoy and Downsey. Please sort before next season
  8. Have reported issues before and...nothing
  9. ...is abysmal. Going into S23 today to my seat through the vomitory (that's what they're called honest!) The steward was hood up (was it raining or cold?) Hands in pockets, leaning against wall, totally disinterested and not engaging with fans. The minimum I expect is alert, engaging, positive NVC's. Do they have no supervisors to kick their arse. As for kids going on the pitch with Man City coming up it'll be more. Messages on PA would help and albeit going on the green bit is a criminal offence a bit of understanding wouldn't go amiss. Bit different to a drunken scroat. Match day experience generally good but could be soon much better with a few tweaks Rant over And yes, I've worked at large events for decades
  10. No good Max kicking ball up middle of park to our forward line of small players. Be creative. He'll get there PS he's better than Bentley for me, who never commanded his area and albeit a good shot stopper was poor at crosses into the box
  11. I've posted before on this topic but there is great entertainment in non league football for the next month (and beyond) I've regularly visited (amongst others) Clevedon Town, Ashton and Backwell, Nailsea and Tickenham and Weston. Nice little grounds and you can have a Beer on the terraces watching the game. You'll get a warm welcome They need your support more than ever in these difficult times for non league. Entry is always reasonable. Even though I'm a South stand season ticket holder I've seen some really entertaining non league games this season PS having watched Gianni Infantino on TV just now what a complete tool in charge of a corrupt organisation
  12. Best wishes for Alex Fletcher, terribly sad. Going back to the OP non league football gives good value and tremendous entertainment and you can have a beer stood on the terraces! City fans. Please support all local clubs during World Cup. I personally have seen some tremendous entertainment at Clevedon Town and Nailsea and Tickenham this season
  13. A team is as good as its foundations as he is a weak link. Over the years and years and years I've watched City keepers we've had some great ones but I'd put Bentley in the average category Good points- athletic and good shot stopper Bad points-terrified at crosses, doesn't command the area enough, distribution poor and not vocal enough. Shouldn't have keeper as a captain as cannot influence situations enough. Can be guilty of 'showboating' saves as well Just as an aside and I won't be a hypocrite Pearson is not the answer to progression in this league. Strange tactics on occasions and play players in correct positions please. Too loyal to some that don't deserve it (Andy King and 'no pace' Matty James) Only plus point of his tenure for me...gives kids a chance No progress until clean sheets start happening. I'll be there on Tuesday night but more in hope than expectation
  14. Gerry Gow wasn't very big! Just saying
