  1. Remember clenching for most of the game after we scored and then getting stuck in a car park until nearly midnight. Possibly the game that got us promoted. Heady days
  2. Laughable. Reminds me of the 'Airplane' poster
  3. The phrase "power in the hands of fools " springs to mind
  4. So he's not a politician and can't knock back questions that he's not capable of answering because some of his answers are complete twaddle. He's out of his depth and he's been hung out to dry by the spineless people above him
  5. He'll be here as long as the Lansdowns are around. Anyone with any football nous and any idea how to run a club would bump him back down to looking after the loanees. He was a good servant with a decent left peg, strolling around in his comfort zone. And he's destroyed any goodwill that he deserved. He's poisoned
  6. It's obvious that he's been thrown forward to spout the owner's/chairman's platitudes because the peasants are revolting. I'd interpret all this waffle and guff as "Bollox, I think we fuqued up and have been sussed. And we can't admit it because we still need to sell season tickets". The truth is Pring and Conway will be sold in the summer because they've both had their heads turned by big clubs and will make good money. We'll invest in young talent and free transfers and hope that Manning actually proves to be a half decent coach. Our football club is a car crash of mismanagement, owned by people who know nothing about football and clearly realise they've shot themselves in the foot.
  7. From legend...........to bellend
  8. One of the best away nights. And pie, chips and peas in the Town before the game. And bumping into Scotty Murray after the game and hugging him.
  9. Throwing a hoop over a duck?
  10. You're welcome. We need to be able to laugh at the moment, don't we?
  11. Isn't a clapper the end of a bell? Or a bell end (I'm here all week)
  12. I haven't seen a manager getting pelters like this after so short a time since S'Od and his brief tenure here. Surely the owner/chairman can't let this go on much longer? People are starting to stay away and that must say more than anything. Even if we scraped a win today I don't think Manning will win anyone over. Dead man walking
  13. OK, how about "I'm not there and Villa v Spurs is a good game"?
  14. Sitting in the back garden with a cold one and enjoying the sun. Proper
  15. Completely agree. But we're stuck with him as long as the Lansdowns are around and it's sickening
  16. He's going to get lots of time to learn to swim unfortunately because he won't get the sack and we all know it. He shouldn't be managing our team and it still makes me angry to think about how he got the job
  17. Good post. We've had two promotion seasons like that. One under GJ and one under Cotts. GJ went on to almost take us up again. Cotts didn't get a chance. Under GJ we were buzzing for that season until we got to the play off final. It's all about momentum. We haven't learned any lessons and we've not kicked on after those two seasons. Ipswich are riding that buzz at the moment. Good luck to them. I'd rather see them promoted than a parachute payment club like Leeds, Leicester or Southampton. It goes to show it can be done.
  18. It was fine margins. Nakhi's shot goes in off the post and I couldn't see them coming back from 2 down. City would have had a bit more belief being 2 up. Ipswich getting the equaliser so quick meant a huge momentum shift and they were buzzing. Ipswich always thought they could go on and win the game. We were just hoping we could. I get the feeling that there are a few players in that side that know they aren't going to be there next season and are marking time. I was encouraged by last night, as I also was by Watford and Middlesbrough away and Southampton at home, but there's also been some dire stuff played against QPR, Cardiff and Sheff Wed too. Lansdown isn't going to sack Manning until he's had a summer to buy players he needs and has a preseason. Manning will be gone by October if we're still not performing consistently by then. I really hope we are because I don't want another's season like this one.
