I would agree that things were much better last night - very few bright white and orange - many more Blues and Reds which weren’t blinding.
Hopefully signs of things to come ….

The TV coverage explanation doesn’t make a lot of sense - for the signs pointing towards the Dolman crowd - I didn’t think there were any cameras in the Dolman that would capture this ?
I’m not sure there are any along the front of the Lansdown?? There weren’t when I used to sit in the Dolman - but now, as I’m in the Lansdown can’t see if they’ve put them in front of me as well. If they have then you are quite right that TV cameras would rarely pick them up!

I sit in the Lower Lansdown and totally agree they are too bright - especially the white and Orange - and I agree I have never bought anything based on these advertising boards.
I’ve also raised it with the club and here’s Jerry’s reply …
Just had an interesting conversation with our commercial team. SO we have maximum and minimum level we have to adhere to due to EFL regulations so games like Blackburn which start in daylight and end in the dark they have to reduce the brightness as the light changes which they did and apologies if it wasn't reduced quickly enough, it will always end up on the minimum permitted when dark.
They advise that the boards are aimed for the TV coverage especially with the Stoke game being live Sky but there is a maximum and minimum brightness.
Cheers Jerry

I do think the club need to realise the effect it has on the ‘customer experience’ and I wonder if anyone has ever worked out if it is any benefit to the companies who advertise - or is it just the club raking in the money! The more who complain may make the club rethink!

The words RG used when GT said that Nigel is coming back was “That’s what we want”.
Does that mean that’s what NP wants?? Or has he said something else?
-
Embarrassingly poor tonight.
-
Yet again why does anyone we play against look sharper and fitter than us.
We never seem to be quick when chasing the ball! -
Does anyone think Bakinson should be anywhere near the first team. He looks totally out of his depth
-
Bakinson just needs to come to the party - otherwise bring on Massengo!

The short piece in Robins Live - just received by email, and the video footage of Kasey’s goal against Birmingham shown again today makes me wonder if we are missing a trick!
Could and perhaps should he be tried further up the pitch?
He can certainly finish (as seen in the Birmingham video), he has more strength than some of our other options, and whilst the teenagers seem to be getting the nod for the midfield positions, with Nakhi unable to hit a barn door at times - perhaps Kasey should be given a try up front?
He’s still young and I’m not sure he’s found his best position!

Regarding the Lino on the Dolman stand side - there were a couple of offsides in the second half - which were so clearly offside he could have flagged earlier - both situations he let the game continue and Kalas, on one occasion and Bentley on another had to go in for tackles that could have got themselves seriously injured if their timing was out!
A crazy rule which is soon going to get a defender seriously injured!

I thought he was outstanding today - his movement, control and shots on goal were much better than any of our midfield - and his energy matched Massengo (who again was probably our best player!).
If Barnsley go down (I know there is a long way to go but ..) he would be a great asset!

So we have Downing left - which of him and Simmo were defence or attack minded - I can’t remember!! Does this Downing fit better with Fleming?

For me that was one of the most pleasing things about tonight before the **** hit the fan.
I feel sorry for the defence continually having to bail out the players in front of them. There's only so many times you can put your body on the line before something breaks.
Watching this team at home reminds of watching England when they come up against half decent opposition, they just revert to type when they come under extreme mental pressure, eventually caving in which is why you are seeing us concede really late in games. It's just not sustainable and for me comes from the manager to instill a certain amount of confidence in their own ability by giving them the tools and the knowledge to cope with situations, thus alleviating the mental stress which in turn should improve decision making.
To see the same mistakes being made over and over again is extremely worrying. For me the same pattern is emerging as under the two previous managers. Personally I would get rid of Simpson and Downing. I've not seen any improvement in the players technical ability and decision making in the time they've been here, especially in midfield, it's like the players are complete strangers.
I can’t disagree with this at all - I’ve never seen what Simpson and Downing have brought to the party.
Make the change!

Truly shocking second half against a very limited team
Second half of the second half we’ve been shocking.
Before they scored we looked pretty good - but since then ……
-
Since the goal we gave away - we’ve lost the ability to pass the ball effectively and look really poor.
Apparenly Millwall have only kept one clean sheet all season. …. That’ll be two in 15 mins!

Fleming has messed our subs right up tonight. 1-0 down with 20 mins to go and Wells is now stuck on the bench.
Wells not on the bench - was replaced by O’Dowda

Think it was Matty James who had a tame shot from distance which curled just wide (their ‘keeper had it covered).
No it was Weimann close up to the keeper when he took it too far!

Weimann?
Yep. When he took it too far and let the keeper save it rather than shoot first time before he was closed down!

Agreed. Glad I’m watching on the Red Button and not paid a tenner!

Bakinson needs to work on his speed! He’s looked very sluggish all game. One of his least inspiring!

Alex Scott’s idol is Jack Grealish, he wears his socks like Jack Grealish and is winning free kicks like Jack Grealish!!

So was I. I remember it well - went with my dad and brother.
At Xmas we always went to my Aunts house and they were Rovers supporters - made the afternoon all the more enjoyable!
Dont remember all the goals - apart from Keith Fear’s second from Ray Cashley’s long punt.
Awful weather (a very strong wind), but a good game .. for City fans!
-
Apart from Afobe’s shot in the first half have we actually had a clear shot on goal ... that’s the biggest problem

Living in Devon I have often bought a sausage roll, and my son has had a steak & ale pie when we get to Ashton Gate for an evening game. He couldn’t make it on Wednesday but I had a sausage roll …
It was hot - tick
It was very very greasy - even the lady who served me had to wipe her hands after handing me the bag,
And it was £3.25!!
Its the last time I will be buying one - overpriced and just not worth it!
