The Good !

Averaging 17 points for the first 3 sets of 10.

Getting results with little possession and low scoring ability for two thirds of the season.

Reaching Wembly, when few of us thought beyond half way up the table. Bristol Boy said if Col U's could make an impact so could we. The staff and players gave us a huge chance and in the end, just 90 minutes kept us from glory. The players that turned up trumps. Basso, Orr, Carey, McCombe, Fontaine, Noble, Carle, Elliot, McIndoe, Trundle and Adebole

The Bad !

Not maintaining our 17 points average per 10 matches at the end of the season. Not selecting Carle in his best midfield position for so long, why bother paying the money. Not playing Trundle with a good target man until the points were against us. Not playing Elliot with Noble or Carle until too late in the season for our central midfield. Not using Vasko at Wembly with McCombe and Orr off the field. A huge error in light of Hulls great defence.

The Ugly !

Wembly. Well we played aggressively for the first 15 minutes then Hulls midfield and defence took over. Trundle has great feet, but showed he was too slow. Adebole was out muscled for much of the game, Hull did their homework.

Orr's passing and crossing was ineffective early and up until his injury he was a liability.

Carle was aggressive throughout and LJ was completely absent after the substitution.

Leaving Vasko on the bench was a huge mistake, in attack or defence we needed him. We have lost McCombe, lost Orr, then bring on a replacement at 5ft 6ins not known for tough tackling.

We came home strong for the last 15 minutes, but could not finish the promising approach play. The main problem was speed, we had none ! Trundle and Adebole, both in their 30's, are good squad members but not game breakers against a tough defence as exhibited by Hull. Good luck to them, they deserved it on the day.

This is not meant to be a critique of individual players, more of a prelude to what is needed for next seasons campaign. There will now be 2 months speculation and rumour as to who will leave and who will sign. GJ, the staff and players will have their own agenda's. It is the nature of the game and there will always be surprises. One player under contract wants to leave, others will be shown the door. It happens every year.

BCFC, thanks for the ride, 2007-8 exceeded all expectations and the 12th man, God they can sing !!!

Let's just hope we don't emulate Col Utd's second season :whistle2:

We won't, because we didn't have to sell our best player during the season and we won't have to sell our best five in the close season which they were forced to.Two went to Hull and played against us yesterday.

My expectation is:

GJ will stay, although he'll be offered the Leicester job which Mandaric seems to have forgotten won't be very attractive as he is a.In the third division and b. Goes through managers like Sir Alex goes through chewing gum.

SL will come up with the dough that GJ needs.

We won't sell one more than the 12,000 ST's we've already sold.

Somewhere between 7-12 players will leave.Definites are Murray, Keogh, Russell & Showunmi.People talk about Betsy but he still has a year left on his contract.

Three or four high quality players will arrive and two will be strikers.

Had a dream that we signed KP from WBA the other night :fastasleep::innocent06:

If we're in and around the top six, attendances will average 16,500.

Rovers, having to play all of their games away, will be relegated and their crowds will average around 3,500-4,000 around 25% of ours for a club that missed relegation to the fourth division by five points.

Our younger players will still have to be content with loans and one promising youngster will leave our club.

Because he wasn't that good when he first played there. When Johnson went off in the first-half of one game, he came on and was overrun. Only now he has reached his full fitness and ability is he worthy of playing there and looking so good.

Not playing Trundle with a good target man until the points were against us.

Trundle has looked poor whoever he has played with. Nothing to do with him blossoming with Adebola now, he has hit form as an individual, and even if played with Adebola twenty games ago everyone was saying how bad he was.

Not playing Elliot with Noble or Carle until too late in the season for our central midfield.

See above. Plus, Lee Johnson has been one of our best players and was vital to our early success, as shown immediately when he got injured.

Not using Vasko at Wembly with McCombe and Orr off the field. A huge error in light of Hulls great defence.

Vasko's last performance I think was Cardiff, and I hear he was bad in the that game. Too risky, and a backward step. in yesterday's situation. The injury gave us a chance to change things which GJ did, instead of juggling the whole defence around.

Overall, GJ has played the right people at the right time, and none of us can really question his team selections overall this season.

I would disagree with each of your points and will leave it at that. At my extended years, I find protracted arguements as used by Nibor and BB a waste of time and space.

Yes GJ has got it right for most of the season, not all of the season. I do however stick with my original opinions.
