94th Minute Posted July 15, 2008 Report Share Posted July 15, 2008 It came as little shock to most city fans that the 'pie in the sky' redevelopment of the memorial stadium fell through; a small club lacking the funding to build it, or the eventual support to fill it, to anyone with an ounce of common sense it was obvious it was never getting off the ground. Or so it seemed, it seemed to me too; but I have recently come across footage which shows that the scheme came far far closer to happening than any of us could have ever thought. The problems for this didn't come at the planning stage nor the financing stage; there were workmen (admittedly cheap labour in the for of fans volunteering) on site, the true problems came at the start of demolition Here is exclusive footage of the first brick being removed in the redevopment of the memorial stadium...
