SUPER REDS Posted July 26, 2008 Report Share Posted July 26, 2008 With time now running out and we still have not signed a quality striker,it was recognised if we want to improve we needed some quality younger strikers to score more goals,in Meteb proven goalscorer he was always going to play in the game and City should of realised this and just hoped no injuries happened which they never,in Mifsud another quick striker we need the fans really want success having so nearly getting it last season for the sake of just playing one game it is ridiculous when it could bring a successful season and progress for the team. Players with big egos such as Meteb and (sadly) Stewart who cannot accept the team is bigger than the individual should not be here. Meteb looked like a quality signing but choosing to play in the Cairo derby was his "You're just a conference manager" moment, he's just demonstrated he thinks he's bigger than this club anyway so can now look elsewhere. That statement makes the huge assumption that meteb deliberately and knowingly went against johnson's express wishes- a 25 year old lad who speaks little English and who was probably under huge pressure made a mistake - he was probably poorly advised - to me it is nothing like the way you protray it. he still would be a quality signing and i hope we go ahead. Disco Stu Posted July 26, 2008 Report Share Posted July 26, 2008 Really begining to be irritated by the assumptions on this board about metab, until someone comes out and makes an official statement from the club then thats all we have, assumptions. Back to topic, we really do need a goal scorer at the very least if we are to build on last season - in a perfect world 2 new strikers before the start of the season. Although I am starting to fear time is running out. 2 other reported targets have just gone to other clubs (Niculie and Garnet), I fear we will end up signing some 2nd rate journeyman .
