edson Posted August 8, 2008 Report Share Posted August 8, 2008 I was initially surprised that we didn't get another centre half in, having released Vasko and with Keogh still 'weighing up his options'. But, looking at it, I wonder if we have enough defensive cover. Carey and McCombe are the more physical types, with Fontaine and Skuse able to operate as a pacy centre half alongside one of those, if required. I've always liked Skuse at centre half since he played there and did superbly a few years back, so I wouldn't mind seeing him given a run there again now he's a bit older and wiser. From his interview yesterday, he certainly seems to be suggesting it may be a plan. With Ribeiro able to cover the full back positions, I think perhaps Gary has decided to go with what we've got and give them a chance.
