RedUn
What's the lowest number of goals any team has ever won automatic promotion with? We could just be on the threshold of greatness!
elko
Wigan must have come bloody close last year, as did WBA two years ago.

Not great for a team that went up as champs.
Guest N1 Jim
Huddersfield won the league in 1924 scoring 60 goals in 42 games. That's the lowest for a league title. The promotion question is going to take a bit longer to work out.

Guest N1 Jim
No it's not a possible record. Have gone back to the war and the least is Gillingham 95/96 Div 3 with 49 goals in 46 games although losing out in terms of games played to.... Notts Co Div 2 (or div 1 equivalent today) 80/81 who scored just 49 goals in 42 games but got promoted. Home record w 10 d 8 L 3 F 26 A 15 Away record w 8 d 9 L 4 F 23 A 23 Our meagre 55 goals so far is not far off though.

With that thought I'll say g'night - nice work Jim. Eeek! ... I've just checked on soccerbase and the Gills manager at the time was only Tin Pot wasn't it?
