Stylus
This was made near christmas by someone on the forum, To the tune of Roudulf the red nose raindeer, Roberts is our Welsh striker, He has very shinny boots, And if you ever see him, All you gotta shout is shoot, None of the other strikers, Even knew his name, Wilson wouldn't let Roberts, Start any first team games, Then one foggy Tuesday night, Wilson came and said, Roberts with you on the right, We'll light up Ashton Gate tonight, Then all of the fans loved him, And they shouted out with glee, Roberts your our Welsh striker, You'll go down in History!! I thinks thats pretty close.........

Guest Neo
Without trying to sound too pessimistic; why bother? There must of been 50 odd songs created over this season for Christian and nobody sings them even when he is playing really well (which quite frankly is almost every game!). Tommy gives away a silly free-kick his name is sang, Tinnion warms up, his name is sang. Christ, even when Matt Hill plays for touch his name is sang. Run your ass off for 90 minutes and score a goal and silence! I would love to see the balance addressed and have petitioned several times. It's like beating a stiff Red-Rum (or something like that)
Johnny Casio
You are 100% correct. I think Chris Rroberts is a great player and he needs to know that from us the fans before we lose him to another club!! I'm not going to give up trying to sing a Chris Roberts song before the seasons out! Cheers! Pete

Admin Maesknoll Red Posted April 27, 2004 Admin Report Share Posted April 27, 2004 "Goodbye-ee, goodbye-ee, Wipe the tear, baby dear, from your eye-ee! though' it's hard to part I know, I'll be tickled to death to go. Don't cry-ee, don't sigh-ee, There's a silver lining in the sky-ee, Bonsoir, old thing, cheer-i-o, chin, chin, Nap-poo, too-dle-oo, Goodbye-ee." Guest Rikku
You are 100% correct. I think Chris Rroberts is a great player and he needs to know that from us the fans before we lose him to another club!! I'm not going to give up trying to sing a Chris Roberts song before the seasons out! I agree - he plays well without ever receiving specific vocal support from the fans but needs to be properly recognised - boosting his confidence can only boost his performance. There already is a song for him. I've never heard it at ashton gate, but it has been sung on a few occasions at away games. It's really catchy, but hardly anybody knows it so it doesn't happen very often and, when it does, not many people join in. Shame really.

andy g
How about... (to the tune of Run Rabbit) Run Roberts - Run Roberts - Run! Run! Run! Run Roberts - Run Roberts - Run! Run! Run! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Until he's got it won. So run Roberts - run Roberts - Run! Run! Run! (the lyrics might need a bit of work though, because the 'bang bang bang bang' line makes it sound like he's prolific in the bed-department instead of being someone who scores a lot of goals....) Johnny Casio
It sounds great!! it's short and catchy Irecon that's probably got most chance of being sung as it's short sweet and definetly to the point!! Cheers! Pete
