More Economical To Stay In The Second Division

Recommended Posts

Just done a few calculations hope my maths is okay

home and away play off final say we take all our 20,000 gate money @ 15 pounds

= 300,000

a failed final at 35,000 city fans at 20 quid each 700,000

total for the failure

ONE million pounds

First division lets not run away with the fact that it will be full houses.

Thier will be a lot of crowd pullers but also a lot of pooh

Maybe an extra 5,000 each match for the entire season 23 times =

115,000 @ 15 quid each = one and three quarter million

So we could get an extra three quarter of a million pounds for moving up a division

not taking into account the extra wages maybe its better to be a towards the top of the second division side that the top side

If we stay in this poxy division and we miss out on playing Leeds Utd etc in Div 1 I'll feel like lynching Danny Wilson and Co. End of story. :@

The Football League keeps most of the gate receipts from the play-offs, I believe. Plus the TV money, sponsorship, prize money etc are all better in the first. I don't think there can be any argument with that and the increased gates, ticket prices and season ticket prices thrown into the equation that being in the first is by far and away the most financially beneficial position to be in.

basing our income only on ticket sales is very naive. the major benfit of div 1 is a massive increase in tv reveneue. not to mention all the other commerical benefits.

ticket sales are only part of the picture.

Form a ######* queue, orderly, all PC like...in the EE..please keep it calm ladies and gentlemen...we cant find the rope...like our goals, its gone ###### AWOL, and we cant afford to buy anymore cos the rope budget was spent on fencing off the training area to keep the press from talking to the team, and in case DW, couldnt find his way back to the Gate :dunno::)
