I'd be surprised if we went 4-3-3 away without Sproule, unless we simply put Maynard back in, swapped him with Styvar, moving him to the right. Only going by text i recieved this morning that stated Sproule (ankle) and McCombe(stomach) were doubtful. Hopefully it is incorrect and Sproule can start. Difficult to drop any of the back four from last week though. Depends who`s up front. If dele starts then play McCombe, it will suit his hoofball clearance. If not stick with Carey/Fonts please, two players capable of playing the ball out of defence on the ground without panicing every time it comes near them. Port Said Red Posted January 10, 2009 Report Share Posted January 10, 2009 I'd be surprised if Johnson started with Steeeeeeeevar mainly because he is so keen for players to have a high level of fitness. I would think it could be February before he is getting starts. Don't forget he was pretty much thrown in the deepend last week and only injuries caused that. The John, Maynard, Sproule combo worked well at Watford and against Palace. so despite my reservations about John I would go with that. I love Liam but would prefer a genuine left back every time.
