Also shows some buses and trains. hope that helps BTW, Reading station is approx 3 miles + from the Madjeski. Would advise to get taxi as walk is over 1 hour. However they run supporters buses from the station after 1:00pm. £6 Adult £3.50 Child. (not to sure on the prices though) www.footballgroundguide.co.uk go onto Reading and should give info on there. Bob4Jane
Make sure you don't park in the retail park ajoining the ground- they do checks on match days. Thought I'd mention it as it is in the shadow of the MadStad, so looks like an atttractive option! It's quite far away from any kind of residential area, really so 'cheeky' parking is tough. I know that home fans can use a park and ride from one of the neighbouring office complexes, but no idea if away fans are welcome.
Barry
Madejski is a real nightmare when it comes to parking. Some of the retail unit car parks are opened up on matchdays, as well as the reading greyhound track offers parking. There is also the option of the park and ride from Foster Wheeler located the otherside of Jct 11. However traffic afterwards can be horrendoeus if trying to get to the M4, so whereever you park it may take a while to get on the M4.
Mighty Squirrel Kingdom
Leave early, remember where you park and if you've got a SatNav unplug it and walk if you get stuck..because here's what happened to me and the missus when we won up there in on a Friday night in March 2001. Didn't exactly leave on time, then there was an accident on the M4 near Swindon, there were tailbacks even though the accident had been cleared. I still thought we would make it on time. Got to Reading, to the best of my memory we parked in one of business parks on the other side of the M4, cutting it a bit fine now but as there were a few fans from both sides still about we thought we'd follow them. Ended up getting totally lost (despite being able to see the lights from the Madjewski), finally reaching the stadium after missing nearly all of the first half. Managed to get in to the ground after telling some of the Reading stewards our story and producing our tickets, but by this time Mrs Squirrel Kingdom needed to go to the ladies...and was in there when Tony Thorpe equalised. We won 3-1 but it was weird only watching half a game. Before then, I used to have a dream (perhaps nightmare would be a better description) that I was going to see City away and that I could see the ground but couldn't get to it. I've not had it since then...it's funny now but I was spitting feathers at the time
Mickey Bells left foot
don't worry that 1st half twas rubbish if memory serves me right, 2nd half was brilliant the peacock back heel for Matthews to smash in bottom corner was delightful

I was about 14 and my dad managed to get us tickets in the Reading end through a mate - I was cheering like a loony at 2-1, then 3-1 and it wasn't going down too well! Be warned The guide also mentions that if there is any trouble between fans then the buses WILL refuse to take away supporters back to station / town centre As happened a few years back and there was a long escorted walk back to the station
Frenchay Red
Is the ground very far from the main shopping area? When I occasionally venture to an away game, 'er indoors invariably tags along to check out the shops!
Bob4Jane
Main shopping area is next to the station (much closer than broadmead&temple meads)- which is, as already mentioned, 3 miles-ish from the ground. Unless she's the kind to spend 2 hours in B & Q and British Home Stores (next to the stadium)?

She could meet up with the 1,999 other City wives who have been taken on a surprise shopping trip.
