It may have escaped your attention that we currently have 2 fit central defenders. If one gets injured or suspended we're back to Cole Skuse covering. Higher priority therefore? Don't read silence as inactivity. exactly, don't believe anything he says until deals are done either. just because he says we are happy with the midfielders we have doesnt mean he wont bring one in this afternoon. he is the master of the red herring and wont make the reality of our transfer dealings public. on the flip side it wouldnt surprise me if he comes out and says he wants to strengthen in certain areas even though he has no intention of doing so and just wants to give those already there a kick up the arsenal. frustrating for obsessives such as us, but best for the club in the long run. on top of this he is always looking at trialists and has said in the past that if the right player is available at the right price then we are always looking to strengthen all departments. basically we have got no chance of second guessing his intentions. but it wont stop us trying Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is another reason why the manager won't go public on what he's doing before a deal is done, unless the player does (Iriekpen) or the other club does (Showunmi). fergie1919 Posted January 28, 2009 Report Share Posted January 28, 2009 I think Rob Jones would be an OK signing, better than iriekpen anyway, if City are looking up north for a centre half they should take a look at Aberdeens Zander Diamond and Andy Considine. Zander has been in SPL for a few seasons now but hes still young and a solid centre half. would prefer to see Considine though hes young solid and can pop up and score quite a few goals from corners. But then you got to get them to sign on the dotted line. Put money on a signing before we play Barnsley methinks.
