compostcorner Posted May 1, 2004 Report Share Posted May 1, 2004 is it better to finish 4th rather than 3rd, teams rarely get promoted finishing 3rd. this is probably because they are on a right downer, especially if they miss out on goal difference or by one point. on the other hand, if you finish 4th, you still retain home advantage for the 2nd leg and the possibility of avoiding the team who finished 3rd.
