Went to the Memorial Service today for Tony Wason, Dolman Stand Season ticket holder, a lifelong City Fan.

Service was at South Bristol Crematorium, brilliant views outside of Ashton Gate and the site for our new stadium. Lots of moving tributes to Tony and lots of fans there, including the vicar, Jack House, who mentioned that he followed City for 60 years, five years more than Tony. Lots of the blokes were wearing City ties.

Afterwards we went to the Bristol Bowling Club, Duckmoor Road. Never knew it was there, just the other side of the wall along the back of the Dolman.

Tony lived in the Bedminster area. He was a gent, special bloke, would do anything for anybody. No-one could ever remember him looking irratated, let alone angry, ever. Older fans might remember him from Luton's bakery in North Street or later when he worked in the printing trade.

Best wishes to his family.

It makes you realise how much he's been through with this club in that time. That takes commitment. We'd all do well to remember that's what being a football supporter is all about. A sad day.
