David Nugent?

No next door neighbour sources, Just a suggestion. Does anyone think we could get this guy from Portsmouth? If so would he be worthwhile? I've always liked Nugent even since his days at Bury and think he would be a good addition at the right price.

About as much chance of us signing him as Eto'o, he's on £35k a week and has turned down loads of moves away from Pompey in the past to stay on big money.

Adebayor is unsettled, isn't he?

Nah, we should get Ronaldo - get one over real madrid.

lot of idiots on this forum - The guy has put forward a name for people to discuss, Nugent can barley get a game and whilst we may not be able to sign him it may be worth a look at a loan, i would rather pay his wages for a year rather than spend another 500k on an unproven striker - And there is noway on earth hes on 35k a week.

Pompey bought him for a fee of £6M, fighting off the likes of Everton at the time to do so, he had just played (and scored) for England and it has since been widely reported in the media that he's on in excess of 30k a week, hence his reluctance to join Ipswich on loan last year, for instance.

This simply isn't a credible suggestion, our two big money strikers (Trundle and Maynard) have both come to us from League One clubs, that isn't just a coincidence, there is a good reason why we don't ever buy Prem squad players, it is that they are all on five figure weekly salaries.

Danny Webber, DJ Campbell, these are the sort of calibre of players that we'll be in for, not current Premier League players with England caps in their mid 20s.

same here. seriously!

So, if we ever make the step-up to the Premier League and sign a world-class Portuguese winger whose tactics on the pitch may often be questionable, but will undoubtedly score a shed load of goals per season, you'll jump ship?

Sound like exactly the fans we need.

You raise a fair point. For the same matter we should probably rule out that Robinho lad as well.

yep anyone 5ft5 then we don't want them otherwise they will have 5 pages written about them every other week get booed if they mis place a pass and get ironically cheered when being subed off

cant be going through all that again it will be best if we stick to 6ft+ players to be on the safe side

So we could move for Peter Crouch then? As far as I'm aware he's a bit taller than someone called Check? Must be a chess player of some sort...
