O_Faz
We began the season clear in most Bristol City fans eyes as filling one of those automatic promotion spots. We sit here the day before the season finishes and in about 20 hours time we will know if we have fulfilled the aspirations of many. And you can see the scenario. City have comfortably won their side of the bargain by beating Blackpool 2-0, with goals from Rougier and Peacock. City fans swarm the pitch to congratulate the players for their efforts this season, even with the Qpr V Sheff Wed game in the balance, Qpr holding a slender 1-0 lead with 5 minutes left. Then a hush decends on the ground. On the tannoy comes the commentary of the final few minutes of the Qpr game. People roaming the pitch sudddenly come to a standstill. Robins misses a Golden oppertunity to equalise, and fans minds begin to wonder towards the play-off's. Then, with 1 minute of stoppage time to go, Sheffield get a corner. Sheff bring all 11 players up. The ball swings in.. a Qpr head clears it to about the penalty spot and a mad scramble ensues. The commentator can't keep up with play. Then up pops Kevin Pressman, whose nearly had a heart attack to reach the box, to volley home the equaliser in his final Pro game. Cue Pandmonium 160 miles away, as grown men cry openly, Strangers hug strangers and City are promoted. Sadly this is the stuff of dreams, but I sincerely hope that something even half as memorable happens tomorrow. Whatever happens, it's been a great season lads, and lets hope the final push sees ourselves hauled to that 2nd spot. Aside from that, it's going to be a bloody long afternoon!
