Norman Hunter

Norman Came to us in the twilight of his career (already a massive football legend) but proved one of City's best-ever buys. Showed he was much more than the hard man that was his reputation. Great in the air. Stylish on the ground. Could hit a 50 yard killer pass to an attacker and go forward to score a 25-yard free kick. A top-quality player.

Norman was the sole reason we stayed in the top flight as long as we did - pure class and THE fans hero of the time, I remember the fans in the East End taking a collection and presenting him with a silver salver before his last match - he should have been offered the manager's job shortly after he left the City.
