Rudolf Hucker
An extract from a story on the BBC today ... Plans to transform Gloucestershire County Cricket ground in Bristol into a 20,000-seat stadium have been unveiled. The £10m scheme would make the ground fit to continue hosting England matches - making it the South West's only permanent international sports venue. The plans also include a "world class" media centre, corporate entertainment facilities and flats for 550 students. The club views the proposals as "essential" if it is to keep its one-day international status beyond 2011. Isn't the development of the rugby ground - which is within a mile or so of the County Ground - also based upon building flats for students? It'll be a real shame if one development scuppers the plans of the other.

No lender these days wants to fund a scheme that relies upon the sales of flats (and especially flats) for its payback.
