DaveF
According to the OS GJ said we should have a new keeper in my Monday or Tuesday, one he didn't think would be available. Now hopefully this isn't Steve Phillips, so who does everyone think it will be? CiderHider
Almost defiantly a 3rd choice Prem keeper.
Tom
The phrase that states that it is a goalkeeper we didn't think would become available. Possibly suggests a real pedigree (no not a Chum(p))
Nugget
Tom Heaton from Manchester United?

Evy11_BCFC
Almost defiantly a 3rd choice Prem keeper. I'd put my money on Ashdown or Begovic from Portsmouth. They are apparently about to sign Niemi as back up for James, which would probably mean one of the two mentioned are now available.

ashtonphil
Matt Murphy of Wolves, Maik Taylor of Birmingham, Carlo Nash also a possibility but last one is second choice at Everton now Ruddy has gone.... Would be very interested to know who it is.....

Would be very interested to know who it is..... Matt Murray would be unavailable more often than Weale and Brooker put together. Quality keeper but his injury record is abysmal
Dan Robin
If Basso won't be anymore on the pitch...it's a necessity, even if it's another gk,which means more money to spend for the club (Basso,Basso....what are you doing? )...

Ronnie Sinclair
I hope it's Schmeichel - I have always been impressed when I've seen him play. He won't get a look-in this season at Man City with Given and Taylor ahead of him so may as well come here.
nebristolred
Posted in the other thread, but Wikipedia thinks we've had a bid accepted for Schmeichel. On Saturday 1st August 2009, Manchester City accepted an undisclosed bid for Schmeichel from Championship club Bristol City.
BCFC RED
Posted in the other thread, but Wikipedia thinks we've had a bid accepted for Schmeichel. Bris Red
I'd mbe very impressed with Kasper Schmeichel and to be fair all signs point to him. Agree he would be an excellent signing especially if we get him on a permanent deal. Basso has been great for us but to be honest even before Basso put in a transfer request if somebody came up to me and said would you swap him for Shemichel considering Basso's age i would have said yes. BIGPHIL
Have been informed that Schmichel was seen at the Ashton Gate yesterday. No idea how reliable this is, just passing on what I have heard.

sh1t_ref_again
According to this Evil post article http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/sport/McInd...il/article.html at the bottom it quotes GJ as saying we will be bringing in a young Premier League keeper on loan on Monday. havanatopia
http://www.arsenal.com/reserves-youth/play...jciech-szczesny i think it could be this guy Saw this guy play in a friendly last season... class stopper with a big future. EP also says: City will definitely be recruiting a goalkeeper to act as cover for first-choice Dean Gerken. If they have that comment correct, which i doubt, then the Pole would fit but i do not think kaspar will want to move to warm the bench. But as i said i think the Post have probably not been informed that Gerken is first choice. They are just saying it because right now he is but then to assume a new keeper would be brought in as cover is probably one assumption too far imo. I like the sound of this young Arsenal keeper, of the 3 names doing the rounds over the last couple of days he'd be my choice.
wilksy
Johnson never seems keen on loan signings if there is not a possibility of making it long term. If I had to have a guess I would say Ashdown.
Ronnie Sinclair
If it is a third choice Premier League 'keeper, it won't be Mark Bunn!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...utd/8180977.stm
