He's distraught apparently and is taking responsible for the goal. Just spoke to him on the phone myself. Just said it happened in a flash and he had absolutely no idea what happened. The referee came over and confirmed it had hit 'something' but the referee was sure it was a stantion/post and didn't want to 'fabricate a goal' and hence nothing was awarded. To me it sounds like the referee had the overall say and Chris just found himself in an unfortunate position. He's a self-critical person and says he'll be awaiting the assessors reports but he expects to be slated. Also mentioned that Warnock came in after the giving it all he had to the four officials.
