Right. This is a whinge.

We are Bristol City.

Or City if thats too hard (but there are other clubs called that).

We are not Bristol. They play at the Memorial Stadium. Not very well.

Bristol has other football clubs too. Bristol Manor Farm. Bristol Academy.

Bristol Rovers. They play at the Memorial Stadium. Not very well.

So, why do all the meeja keep calling us Bristol? It gets right on my Bristols.

...never been able to understand the problem some people seem to have everytime someone fails to use the word City... we all know what is meant for gawds sake, its hardly an insult, ...if anything its complementary that people automatically think of us when just the word Bristol is used... kinda proves that the general population recognises US as the premier sporting club in the region... theres only ONE TEAM IN BRISTOL afterall - everyone knows that, dont they?..

i personally find it quite funny as there making it out to be that we are the only team in bristol! :englandsmile4wf:

Very true... but also find it a little insulting... they wouldn't call Man City "Manchester"?

Still, like you say, as long as they recognise us as Bristol and not Bristol Manor Farm or any of the other lower league teams, then it's kind of a hidden compliment :dancing2:

Both Sheffield teams are of roughly equal standing. Both Manchester teams are very well known. So no comparison there.

Given that the BBC are currently struggling to comprehend there is life in the championship beyond the ex-prem north east, they're hadly likely to have noticed the lower reaches of league one.

Take it as a complement...the world recognises there is one team in bristol.
