94th Minute
I can't be the only one continually dissapointed with the complete and utter lack of action by city on transfer deadline day.. whilst other teams will sign big names, big prospects, and declarations of big ambitions for the rest of the season; we talk about big names big prospects and the lack of big ambition for the rest of the season So here is a thread, a countdown to the closing of the window, just so we can have something to post throughout the day 14.33pm 147 minutes to go - No signings

94th Minute
apparently a deals been struck to sign sno on loan for a year I know, I just find it hard to believe things I read on unofficial websites anymore; so many transfers to get to excited about, so few actually happen

chinapig
One of the consequences of the transfer window is that it creates a rather sad expectation of excitement on the last day. SSN feeds on this of course till you end up with "transfer porn" and a lot of desperate people glued to the TV all day waiting to cream themselves while watching a man in a raincoat outside an airport hotel explaining there have been no sightings of player X yet while in the studio you have a lot of journalists (loosely speaking) interviewing other journalists about all the speculation. It gets to the point where a signing is only exciting if it happens at the last minute. Perhaps we should have kept Paul Hartley waiting until now? It would imply that our manager was clueless and leaving stuff to the last minute the fact we don't is a good indicator that the board and manager have a plan I wouldn't mind a good target man if there's one out there, but tbh I would rather we leave it until January and maybe bring in someone on loan to help bring on Akinde. 94th Minute
Dara o Briain wrote a very amusing article about the window and SSN in Saturdays Guardian Sport suplement: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/au...w-dara-o-briain Its better than a soap opera; fleeting appearances from the cast of Eastenders could never keep a nation gripped from 8am through to 5pm A live text version of Coronation Street would struggle to cause the replacement of a hundreth the F5 keys of September 1st All leaves one question in my mind though, who are the people who text BBC with rumours of sightings of Rooney outside Stamford Bridge wearing blue; and what do they do for the other 363 days of the year what use is there for them come Wednesday morning? Still no news from Ashton Gate.. so I think thats 24 hours 59 minutes now
