Ron Posted October 19, 2009 Report Share Posted October 19, 2009 Don't know whether anyone heard Gary's interview on Saturday or saw the interview on Player today, but Johnson has been very candid in his explanation of what he's trying to do with his tactics when looking to see out a game. Now I'm not trying to defend his choice of tactics as clearly they're not perfect at the moment, but for all those who see him as some arrogant fool who won't admit his mistakes, they may want to watch the video to see him explain his use of defensive tactics towards the end of games, etc. As a professional manager, he's unlikely to hold his hands up and say "I made the wrong decision" because this may have certain unwanted implications from inside and outside the team as to future matches. However, he is honest in his assessment of how the game went on Saturday and sometimes its better to imply something than to say it out loud.
