Halloween

And Its Smith

Recommended Posts

Interesting. Back when I was a young lad in ye olde country, (circa AD 1692). Halloween was never a big deal.

Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night/5th.November was the thing: and rightly so.

Has England succumbed to this American "Trick or Threat" stuff now, as well as Oz ?

Consumer culture Philip, any excuse to buy things and overeat.

There seem to be pockets of it where a local "tradition" has grown up. I've not actually experienced it myself over here (though I'm happy to complain about it!) but did duty over in the US one time, where you go with the flow and buy a few bags of cheap sweets.

Thankfully Halloween seems to be dying on its arse.

Load of American trash hijacked by young muppets intent on vadalism.

Unfortuantly though Phillip, bonfire night is fading away too. PC culture and Health and Safety red tape seeing the number of displays drop.

Not sure you can blame PC for bonfire night fading away. Ridiculous H & S yes.
