italian dave Posted November 4, 2009 Report Share Posted November 4, 2009 Brilliant result tonight - and both SL and CS (and I'm sure many others) deserve a massive thank you for all that they have done. I'm no planning expert, but it seems to me that tonight was the biggest hurdle of all. Course there are more to come - but the bottom line is that we have got the consent we need for a new stadium. That consent will last a few years I believe - so even if it takes a while to sort out the housing, sort out Sainsburys, sort out any extra finance we need to replace those - we can do it!! (or rather, SL and CS can do it!). Even the world cup is a bit of a red herring now - frankly I couldn't care whether it comes to Bristol or not, as long as we get our stadium! Getting consent for a football ground is a huge ask - especially in a place as negative and conservative as Bristol - and we have done it!!Smart moves all alng to use the world cup as bait, to use Tescos etc as a distraction - and all to great effet.
