City Rocker
As I recall we lost at home to Arsenal that day. As we're all leaving the ground the tannoy announcer is reading out the final scores..."Tottenham Hotspur NINE....." is met with the biggest roar of the day and suddenly losing to Arsenal doesn't seem so bad. To complete the humiliation, the Spurs-Rovers game was the main feature on Match of the Day that evening and the Rovers fans at school were in for merciless piss-taking for months to come. Hilarious! Rich i e
Feast your eyes again: Spurs 9 Gas 0 ..... We were one division above Hoddle! Funniest thing was seeing the Sag full back pleading for off side as Hoddle puts in the 9th!

22A
A certain Colin Lee scored 4 for Spurs that day. Now I wonder where he started his career? Here's a clue; he still lived in Bristol at the time. He stated in the Green'Un the following week what fun it had been to drive home down the M4 after the game past all those dejected fans with blue & white scarves in their windows. Oddly enough there were no banners on bridges stating "Well done Colin, a great advert for Bristol football" etc.
