Economou
Why why why are players booked for celebrating in front of their own fans ???? Effing ridiculous, can't get my head round it.
luke_bristol
That ****wit Sepp Blatter has decreed that as a topless man would upset the sensibilities of viewers in certain nations, and that as football is 'the global game', removing your shirt is a yellow card offence. Sorry, but its fairly obvious what you were implying and there are plenty of threads about that- some people are obsessed. CITYDAN01
i still think that willams should play more games, when he came on against plymouth he seemed to turn the game around. so i would like to see him start against reading

If you mention the words Gavin Williams you would be right. If you assumed it was LJ you would be wrong, read all my previous posts re LJ and then you may see why. Ok, Ok i was thinking you were talking about 'The Boy' and if you weren't i apologise for jumping to such conclusions. However, i still think it was a negative comment considering the result tonight

mark43
Back to the original point. The whole taking your shirt off booking is absolutely bloody stupid, but... It has been a rule for many years, so when you score just don't take off your shirts off. Surely people would have got used to not removing clothing to celebrate by now? Bris Red
It is ridiculous so why is the rule not changed ? Footy's emotional ffs. Exactly, even when i have scored goals playing on a sunday morning its emotional, let alone infront of thousands of fans! Pathetic rule but there we go thats fifa for you - full of bull shit. mark43
I do totally agree, I'm struggling to think of a more stupid rule either in football or in anything else. I'm sure its hard not to get carried away, but you just know you're gonna get booked.

cidercity1987
Sproule gets a yellow card for taking his shirt off in celebration. Jamie Ward gets nothing for jumping around like a constipated dwarf inciting the Atyeo, twice. Makes sense. :noexpression:
Economou
What was wrong with post 2? Nothing, perhaps should've said up to & including #2. Posts 3-13 show how quickly things can go off topic.
Northern Red
Not only is it a stupid rule, but bear in mind what Ivan has been through over the past few weeks. Surely a bit of common sense wouldn't have gone amiss on this occasion ?

iWurzel
Notwithstanding the fact that it's a bloody stupid rule, professional footballers have been aware about this for so long now that there's no reason to do it. What part of removing your clothing is inherently linked with scoring a goal? It's just not, players do it knowing full well they will get booked and shouldn't do it.
