After managing to create the largest deficit ever seen in this country in the midst of the biggest economic boom ever seen, how anyone can be giving consideration to putting them back into power is beyond me. Gordon Brown was not, contrary to the image he likes to portray, a good Chancellor; he was a terrible one that happened to be in office during the good times. We encourage you to make your feelings known to the local representatives - those of us living in Bristol mailed our local councillors regarding the food store. It's important not to be complacent as shown by what happened last week. This is a chance to have your voice heard! Encourage friends and family - let's not waste this opportunity. Exactly the realpolitic spirit of my original post Maggie! At least having the thread hijacked by politicos from both sides has kept the WRITE TO THEM message at the top of the board. However, this is a single issue that we have to get politicians of all hues facing our way on. The councillors of North Somerset must hear the voice of their City supporting people! ... Roger Red Hat Posted December 13, 2009 Report Share Posted December 13, 2009 The Tories have always hated the Football fan, thatcher( ) wanted us all to have ID cards just to get in.We had Lord Haw Haw/Colin Moynihan who wanted us all banned from travelling abroad, and when fans did, he made sure they were all treated like scum. Just like the miners,steelworkers and every other working man was treated like under them. I'm sure if Lord Snooty and his pals were to win the next election we will all be forced to go rowing and play Polo . Thats if they havent put us all on the Dole "again" They also gave us David Mellor "the voice of football" Whatever did happen to him? Got caught with his trousers down, if memory serves.... Oh, so the economic boom was bigger than the North sea oil boom that Thatcher threw away on paying the 4-5 million people on the dole and giving the rest to her Billionare friends was it Ive never been unemployed under a Labour goverment, under the Tories i spent about a year trying desperatly to find work. Not saying Labour are much different but I can NEVER forgive Thatcher and her policies and I will NEVER vote conservative/Etonians/Toffonians. Annexing an innocent country for their oil supply. - but it means that I don't have to pay so much for fuel right? Kinda depends on whether we 'win' or not. Don't forget all the terrorist attacks it's created. 4. Being intensely relaxed about people getting filthy rich. - are we supposed to stick to the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor (i.e. the Tory system) and that's your lot in life or do you give people the opportunity of working there way out of poverty and having something to aim for. Surprisingly large # of people not taking that opportunity... 5. Letting house prices reach levels unaffordable to any young people apart from the seriously privileged. - I'm young I am just about to buy a house, i'm certainly not privileged I just haven't spent anything except necessities (and football, which maybe a necessity) for the last 3 years to be able to save a deposit - its called self control and has to be used if you want to buy a house. Isn't just a deposit - you must be earning a nice wage to get a big enough mortgage. 6. Letting your hubby watch porn at the taxpayers' expense. - Porn is free, who pays for porn? We do, for the benefit of the Home Secretary's husband. Did you see that study which found 20/20 men watch online porn? The only party leader I think speaks any common sense in politics at the moment is Nick Clegg but if I voted for the liberals I might as well not vote. Depends where you live.
