Now if I was Peacock I would read into that If we're still in Div 2 - we'll offer you a contact If we're in Div 1 - thanks for the memories I dont know who else is in the same boat as Peacock but this doesnt bode well for motivating the players for the play-offs. Imagine 1-1 in cardiff with a minute to go and Murray whips the ball in to Peacock with just the keeper to beat, does he a. foul a defender b. gloriously put City into dream land with a bullet header and himself on the dole c. put it over and hello new contract ..... Geesus the City fan Posted May 12, 2004 Report Share Posted May 12, 2004 I think the situation is more like - if we get promoted we can offer him a contract that meets his requirements and current salary, if not then here's a token offer at a vastly reduced rate take it or buggar orf to Oldham or who ever...
