exiledinwatford
"Now is the time to stop all the knocking and rally round the club. That is my message to all supporters today. Join us, be a part of the club, see our point of view, and get behind the team with your full backing to help us achieve our goal. I know we will always be criticised by a certain section of the crowd. That is their right." Was this Gary Johnson in 2010? Nope. It was Alan Dicks in the programme notes for the Manchester United game on 9th November 1974. City had just beaten Oxford to go 5th in the old 2nd division in front of a crowd of....10,036!! Although City did the double over the Mancs (who went on to be 2nd division champions that year) we finished 5th having to wait until the following season for promotion to the top flight. I bet it was the same in the sixties with Fred Ford! I'd settle for 5th this year and promotion next!!!!
