fka dagest
Quite simple, which player from yester-year would you call up now to save the day? He's probably not the greatest CB we've ever had, but I think a Shaun Talor in his prime would be just the tonic right now.

ribsbcfc
Dave (smudger) Smith would be my choice, at least he could put a decent cross in.
BCAGFC
I don't think one player is enough but I would also go with Shaun Taylor swiftly followed by Gerry Gow. They would sort our powder puff players out. BCAGFC

cinker
Tinman any day, followed closely by Shaun Taylor, then Mickey Bell......hang on can i pick a whole new team? I would need to go with 3 Garland, Gow and Taylor. But they would all be played out of position and told they don't track back anyhow.

Atlanta_Red
Taylor should be brought in as the defensive coach. As for players from the past to inspire us, they would be Norman Hunter and Shaun Taylor.

basso_no1
My Father always says Atyeo was immense. The complete player - two feet, strong in the air, strong in the tackle, could always see AND make a pass, AND could finish - I think he would help at the moment. Norman Hunter was the best player I have seen in a City shirt. Awesome defender but the most underrated footballer I can think of. He could really play as well defend. So I would definitely want him now! Perhaps more significantly, in goal would be ....... ADRIANO BASSO ..... why is he now a throw back to yesteryear? Red-Robbo
I'd would've liked to have unleashed a prime-era, non hungover Tommy Doc on Doncaster. I don't think the Arsenal lad "Flo-Jo" would've lasted long...

Red_Monster
Hold on.....scratch my earlier reply. Now that i've had a coffee and 10 minutes to think about it properly, i'd go for Dinning (but only after he signed a permanent contract), followed closely by Gerard Lavin.....yup, jobs a good'n

'Orns
Super Bob - how many times did he get us out of the sh1t, slapping one in from nowhere. Mr Mosquito
Gow Hunter Ritchie Cheesley Merrick Whithead Moller I'd add Jimmy Mann because he could score from 40 yards out and would have no problem beating Palarse's goalie Speroni. Add Micky Harford as well for bullet headers.

grove park city
Norman Hunter Gerry Gow Shaun Taylor Tom Ritchie......I'm going all misty eyed now and realising how bad we are at the moment.... Not one player in this current squad apart from a younger Paul Hartley that can match any of those four !!!!!!!!!!!! We really have no backbone or spirit at the moment Dave Moyes also always gave 100 % but Shaun Taylor the bloke was a true lion of a centre half if he stayed down then he was badly injured. Redcliffe 78
Tommy Doherty Isn't Hartley Tommy in disguise, great player Tom never had pace, attidude questionable should of done more IMO. Then again when it comes to slippers time played against Gerrard gave him a good welcome to the game tackle whilst playing for NI. Should of played Prem Tom you know that. Lack of Action Man
Too many to single out one player... Murray in his prime on one flank and JCR/Haynes on the other would be perfect Cheeseley fit and raring to go upfront with Iwelumo would be awesome Gerry Gow and Norman Hunter would be putting in those die hard challenges we need and would command the team.
